26CornerBlitz Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 @BuffNewsVogl The Sabres have hired Seamus Kotyk as a roving goalie coach and scout. Here's his resume ... http://www.hockeydb....php?pid=31202 …
IKnowPhysics Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 Dedicated goalie scout? Or long term succession plan for Jim Corsi? Or an assistant to work on-ice with Jim? Benefits of Pegulabucks for sure, but I don't know what that role is.

Sounds like he'll move around within the system to coach Hackett, Makarov, Lieuwen, Knapp, etc. and report on potential prospects in his travels as well.
IKnowPhysics Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 I guess if we have goalies in 3+ different places, it'd probably be handy. Plus scouting.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 26, 2013 Author Report Posted September 26, 2013 I guess if we have goalies in 3+ different places, it'd probably be handy. Plus scouting. Yep, Plenty of G prospects in the Sabres' pipeline between AHL, ECHL, NCAA, and Europe.
LastPommerFan Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 It's a typo. It's a roving girl scout cookie salesman. It's just another revenue stream.
Weave Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 What's with the Celtic first name and eastern European last name?

Two or less Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 Sabres add another scout to what is already a league high scouting department. Can't hurt i suppose.
apuszczalowski Posted September 27, 2013 Report Posted September 27, 2013 Baseball teams have positions like this (not goalie coaches though) Sal Fasano is the Jays roving catchers coach i believe. he travels through the different levels of the farm system and even works with the guys on the big club as an extra coach. So basically this guy will travel through the Sabres different farm systems, working with all the goalies they have and also work as a scout while he is out there
