I couldn't cut and paste it, but if you look at the 2nd or 3rd paragraph, Regier when talking about why Satan was not re-signed, states "at least the loss of Zhitnik...".

 

So your top defensemen and top forward will not be back in 05-06. Way to recapture the fans excitement. <_<

It would be a big mistake not to try to re-sign Zhitnik. The guy plays as many minutes as two defensemen.

 

The Sabres better do something to regain the excitement of the fans.

you don't cut your most expensive offensive guy to make resources available to sign defensive prospects. you use that money to sign zhitnik.
