BuffalOhio Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Derek Roy's effort on Gaustad's goal on Tuesday. He was a one-man forechecking machine on that goal, and I've seen efforts like that from him a lot this season. I love it when he gets fired up like that. I can't recall each one, but I know there have been several times he's done that. I also recall him getting a standing ovation for his penalty killing several games ago. :worthy: I guess nobody mentions things like this because he small, likes to avoid hits, and is a finesse player and is of no value to the team. :nana:
shrader Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 In the game thread I posted saying "that was one hell of a shift!". Roy was the main part of it, but the entire team looked damn good on that one.
bcsaberks Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 I noticed. He had a nice game, fired up. I missed this though.... Link With 6:08 left in a lopsided game, Sabres center Derek Roy was given unsportsmanlike conduct and 10-minute misconduct penalties for slamming his stick into the glass, breaking the pane and causing a delay. It's uncertain why Roy did it, although he had just missed a home-run pass that turned into an icing. "Not acceptable," Ruff said. "I'll leave it there. It'll be dealt with."
