inkman Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 Well, we are starting to get some players back from injury and that got me thinking. What is this team going to look like when they are finally healthy? It looks like Mair could be done for the year, so lets go with that assumption. 1st line: Connolly, Briere, Kotalik 2nd line: Grier, Drury, Hecht 3rd line: Vanek, Roy, Afinogenov 4th line: Dumont, Gaustad, Pominville 1st D-pair: Mckee, Lydman 2nd D-pair: Tallinder, Campbell 3rd D-pair: Numminen, Kalinen Goalies: Miller, Biron Spare Parts: Fitzpatrick, Peters, Pyatt I'm going on another assumption about Noronen getting traded. It is just a gut feeling but I think Darcy unloads him for a prospect or draft pick. Also, I'm just guessing on the line combos (obviously, I'm not Psychic). I really like the forward possibilities, but I would like to see a physical defenseman take the place of Kalinen or Campbell. I think Darcy will address that with an underwhelming trade that will payoff more than we expect.
Taro T Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 With that grouping of players, I'd expect the lines to be as follows: Kotalik - Briere - Dumont Hecht - Drury - Grier Vanek - Connolly - Afinogenov Pominville - Gaustad - Roy Tallinder - Lydman McKee - Kalinin Campbell - Numinnen I don't expect that Lindy would change the existing D pairings. Also, Lindy would want Connolly taking faceoffs more than Roy and Dumont and Briere are typically on the same line (not always, but typically).

Looks good to me, but I wouldn't be surprised if Kotalik and Hecht were flipped from time to time.
hopeleslyobvious Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 Looks good to me, but I wouldn't be surprised if Kotalik and Hecht were flipped from time to time. I'd like to see Roy between Vanek and Afinigenov more. They look good together.
