PTS Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 A hot LA Kings team comes into town. Buffalo needs this game bad! To make matters worse, Vanek has some foot problems and might miss this game, although I'd argue he wasn't even at the last game. Chris Thorburn has been called up again. Lets Go AmerkSabres!
Stoner Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 I'm calling it. Sabres 4, Kings 2. No one... NO ONE... circles the wagons like the Buffalo Sabres!
Taro T Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 The Sabres in recent years have played very well against LA. LA also has had a tendency to find itself in the box ~1 more time per game than the Sabres and their penalty killing is an attrocious 77.5% on the road. These, combined with LA possibly taking the Sabres lightly considering the Kings 6-0 thrashing of the B's and Buffalo's tough loss on Thursday to a team LA killed about a week ago, are setting up for a good opportunity for the Sabres to get a win tonight. I expect to see Ryan in goal tonight and the Sabres to put forth a better effort than it sounded like they put forth against the Desert Dogs. I haven't heard whether Demitra is playing tonight, but he did miss their last 3 games. Garon is a bit of a wild card as he has 2 shutouts in his last 4 games but gave up 6 goals to Anaheim 2 games ago.
shrader Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 Possibly two full lines of Amerks tonight? This could be interesting. Thank god we have so many NHL-ready players in the system.
LabattBlue Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 I suppose Peters will be in the lineup because of LA's goon(Avery). Just what the Sabres need when in a goal scoring slump. <_<
GGM Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 Eh...One might bounce in off Peters' jock or something.
Eleven Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 I suppose Peters will be in the lineup because of LA's goon(Avery). Just what the Sabres need when in a goal scoring slump. <_< If Peters does dress, and if the rumors on this board are true, I hope he enjoys it. NHL begins drug testing tomorrow.
PromoTheRobot Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 A third of the Kings played in on their AHL club Manchester NH last year. Adam Mair was a Manchester Monarch and played with these guys. PTR
pwner Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 Make that 3-0 on a Kotalik goal. I'll be sorry to see Mathieu Garon leave, which I expect him to shortly.
PromoTheRobot Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 Kotalik makes it 3-0. Kings looked tired. Long road trip for them. (Aren't they all?) PTR
Strow Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 wow maybe the Amerks should all move up to the big club if they score 3 goals in less than 5 minutes
hopeleslyobvious Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 Let's keep it up, and build some momentum for the road trip.
hopeleslyobvious Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 Well, whatever Lindy said to them...It worked!
Strow Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 lets save some of these goals for other games. Good thing peters dressed cause lots of fights tonight.
pwner Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 5-1 right now. There wasn't much Miller could do, it was a 2-1.
hopeleslyobvious Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 Yeah, tough to make the save when you're getting run...Ok, I am overreacting, I admit it.
mrjsbu96 Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 5-1 right now. There wasn't much Miller could do, it was a 2-1. the only thing Miller could have done there is not have Kalinin on the ice... my 1st period observations - just as "low" as some people thought we were the past few weeks, we can not consider this a "high" - back to Kalinin, when you are last guy back like that, you HAVE to make sure the puck gets through. he shot it right in to the legs of a King defender. i'm tired of waiting for this guy to come around - somebody, hopefully Peters, better give Avery what he deserves for taking swipes at Miller like he did

PromoTheRobot Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 6-1 Hecht with the hattrick. PTR
Corp000085 Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 6-1, hecht with a hat trick... first ass whooping of the year. great way to end the homestand.
Corp000085 Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 7-1... pomenville converted the extra point on the hecht TD... PP goal.
hopeleslyobvious Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 I'm surprised we haven't more fights at this point.
Corp000085 Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 grier et al. still have to get back at avery for being a pest earlier. The 3rd period has all the makings of a penalty fest
