mrjsbu96 Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 Considering it is ESPN, I will take any sort of hockey coverage I can get from them and even though Don Cherry is not-PC enough or whatever for many, I still am a big fan. At a minimum you have to respect his love for the game of hockey. Anyone else interested it is a good read: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/eticket/story?page=doncherry
wjag Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 This was a great article. I didn't know ESPN was capable of journalism. I now understand the motivation of the man in the clown suit.
BuffalOhio Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Gotta love da Coach. He tells it like it is!

hopeleslyobvious Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Great article. I am usually not a big fan of Scott Burnside, but he did a good job here.
Sabresince70 Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 If you can get your hands on it, there is a book called "Grapes" - it is an autobiography by Cherry. I think he wrote it about '82 or so - I know it ends about the time the Rockies moved to Jersey.
Hawerchuk Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 I had to print it out to read it later due to work time constraints. Thanks for that story. I always liked Grapes because I love hockey and HNIC. Cheers!!
pSabres Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 For Hockey there really is nothing better than three things... Hockey Night in Canada Don Cherry and of course... Rick Jeanerette?s Sweet Call of the Game.

mrjsbu96 Posted November 30, 2006 Author Report Posted November 30, 2006 I would love a world (or should I say the U.S. even more) if HNIC was worshipped the way Monday Night Football is. Gotta love Canada for HNIC.......and Labatt's!
