wjag Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 At 16-2-1 and 33 points, what a season they are having . What amazes me is that they are dealing with the same line-up issues the Sabres are but for different reasons. The Sabres are injured and the Amerks are the replacements. They have to be juggling lines all the time. With six starters off their roster (don't know who, if anyone, Florida has called up) you would think there would be a fall off in their play. Sabres 19-3-2 and Amerks 16-2-1, that's awesome... What an organization.
inkman Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 At the start of the season they had as many as 6 skaters not dressing for the games. Guys like Zagrapan weren't getting a sniff. It's nice to see him score his first AHL goal last night.
slapshot1619 Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 YES!!! Zags got his first!! I have a really good feeling about the kid. at least Rochester has the good problem of having a larger roster. We call up 3-4 people and they have some younger players who they can call upon to contribute.
Two or less Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 The Amerks are definetly playing awesome hockey. Even without a few guys, they still come out strong each game and play good. MacArthur has played great. They have moved Mancari to defense and he's playing well. Zagrapan just scored on a tip last night, but him and Kelata havn't really started to play at a high level yet, so things can only get better for Rochester. It'd be interesting to see if Mike Ryan goes down and if he will clear waivers. It'd be a pretty big loss for the Amerks if Ryan doesn't make it down.
