wjag Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 The high-scoring Sabres became the first team to score 100 goals this season (101), and have scored at least seven goals in five games, including three times in the last six contests. Back-to-back seven goal games is pretty rare I bet save for the old Oilers teams.. Nov to date 8-3; 48 goals scored, 39 allowed; 16 points earned; 6 lost And the stat I like most is they have answered every setback with a win. That is what championship calibre teams do.
SDS Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 considering the schedule and the injuries, we may look back at this month as the key to any home playoff advantage we may earn.
MBD Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 Two more games to go in this killer 10 games in 17 days stretch! BTW, I head that Connolly is 100% ready to go, but they're giving him extra recup time since the team is winning without him. Can't wait for his return.

That stat is even nicer when you look at the next two in line.. Anaheim with 82, and then Atlanta with 80. -Jeff

I can't imagine he is anywhere near close to being in shape. Basically he has had no exercise in the last half year.

I mean "ready to go" as in lace'em up and play. It's pretty much a given he'll need several games to get back in game shape.

Eklund give you this rumor personnally or was it the space coyote? Have you been reading the Sabres.com message boards? What are you smoking and whatever it is, I want some, it must be GOOD Connolly hasn't even skated since he took the hit. I haven't even heard anything about him seeing a specialist for another checkup since around the start of the season. There is no way they are just "Holding him out cause the team is doing so well" He is already a burden to the teams salary cap by not playing and collecting his money, why would the Sabres prefer to screw themselves over and get in more cap trouble calling up the kids from Rochester?
MBD Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 Couldn't tell you, just reporting what I heard. And the cap is complicated so if anything, I'd expect that it was being done to give him as much time as possible AND to workout something WRT the cap.
