envirojeff Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/powerranking WTF??? Jeff
inkman Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I stopped caring about power rankings 1 second after they were created.
Two or less Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Guys, relax. Their Power Rankings. They are all about wins and loses... and we lost 2 games last week to a weak team, so yeah, we do deserve to drop. Power Rankings don't take injuries or travel or large number of games in a short period of time in hand... so if you look at power ranking, know what you are looking at.

apuszczalowski Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 How is this a surprise, they were 1-2 last week beating Pittsburgh and losing to Ottawa. Its funny how everyone thinks this team is the best team the NHL has ever seen. They are not. They're good, but still have faults. Wins/Losses aren't the only way to determine whos good and whos not because it can be misleading. Who should be considered a better team, a team that is 5-2 with all 5 of their wins coming in regulation, or a 5-2 team who won half their games in OT or the shootout? (that was just an example, it had nothing to do with the Sabres, or Sharks, or Ducks, etc.) The only place that the rankings count are the official standings. Power Ranking are only a fun way to look at where teams stand depending on their play recently
All Along The Watchtower Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I dunno, I kinda like these "Power Rankings" :D NORTHEAST GP W L OTL PTS Buffalo 21 17 3 1 35 Toronto 22 12 6 4 28 Montreal 19 11 5 3 25 Ottawa 21 9 11 1 19 Boston 18 8 8 2 18
BetweenThePipes00 Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Besides, San Jose is very good. I think they are the best team out West.
Knightrider Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 How is this a surprise, they were 1-2 last week beating Pittsburgh and losing to Ottawa. To raise the Sabres after a decidedly mediocre week would smack of Buffalo favouritism, but since that's quite obviously not the case, I'll point to the returns of G Ryan Miller and RW Maxim Afinogenov and simply say that the Sabres should be glad to have them back. TSN's Rankings - In light of the ESPN's, I thought this one was rather humorous...
Seannie34 Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 TSN's Rankings - In light of the ESPN's, I thought this one was rather humorous... Look at how many key injuries the Sabres have compared to everyone else in the top 10. Its nice to know that we can be injured and still keep the pace up.
