matter2003 Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Buffalo has scored 80!!! goals in 17 games, which is 8 goals more than the next closest team, which is Atlanta. However, Atlanta has also played 3 more games than the Sabres have. Here are the top 5 teams in Goals/Game: 1) Sabres 4.7 Goals/Game 2) Maple Leafs 3.6 Goals/Game 3) Thrashers 3.6 Goals/Game 4) Rangers 3.5 Goals/Game 5) Lightning 3.4 Goals/Game This team is scoring at an absolutely ridiculous pace, but is still well short of the record setting pace of the 83-84 Oilers, who scored an unheard of 446 goals in 80 games, for a 5.6 Goals/Game average. Buffalo is on pace to score 386 goals for the season, which is almost 1.5 goals/game more than last year's edition of the Sabres scored(3.37 Goals/Game), and way ahead of last years leading team, Ottawa, which averaged 3.8 goals/game... Seemingly every game they go out and score 4 or 5 goals, which is just unbelievable, considering all of the injuries they are dealing with right now, and they haven't dropped off any at all...
