Knightrider Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 Terry Frei's column Personally, I couldn't disagree more. Yes, our schedule is tougher. No, me may not get to see some players very often. However, rivalries are more important now after being diluted by the expanded league. Who would you rather play, Leafs, or a 10:30 game in Vancover? Bruins, or the Kings? The league had to feel smaller somehow. I think I'm OK with the approach...
PTS Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 I love the new schedule system. Don't change a thing. Conference games always mean more and are packed with more intensity and passion because they are "4 pt" games.
Taro T Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 I would like to see them play against teams from the other conference more and keep the division rivalries. Two ways that would work would be: 1. Play 8 games vs division rivals and 2 against the rest of the league. or 2. Play 6 games vs division rivals, 2 games vs opposite conference, and play 3 games against most of the rest of the conference but only 2 games against 2 of the other conference teams. (With 1st place team playing 3rd game against 1-4th finishers, 2nd playing 3rd vs 1-3,5, 3rd playing 3rd vs 1-2,4-5, etc. Rotate which division hosts the extra game each season.)
blugold43 Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 i would like at least 1 home game a year with each team. but whatever. i am so glad the game is finally watchable i barely care.
jp... Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 This new schedule is great...don't change a thing
Eleven Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 If it meant games against Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver only, I'd be for it. But who needs to see San Anaheim or whatever other teal teams are out there, three times a year?
