PTS Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 If a game is tied after regulation, how does the point system work if you lose in OT. Do you get one point or none? If you lose in shootouts, you still get one point but I can't stand OTLs. If you lose in OT you shouldn't get any point, otherwise, why even bother with overtimes? They should just go to shootouts. So we could potentially have records denoted as W-L-OTL-SW with SW referring to shootout wins. Got I miss the W-L-T columns.
SDS Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 who gets the extra "goal" at the end of the shootout? Will that goal count against a goalies GPG? I say NO points for a tie. That eliminates playing tight for the last 10 minutes of the 3rd period to save "the point".
