BetweenThePipes00 Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 The bruins have officially quit ... 4th line just bottled them up for over a minute.
wjag Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Campbell long pass to Vanek and then top shelf shot... AWESOME!!! Stick a fork in.. This is over!!! 8-0!!!
Knightrider Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 does that mean drury is the league leader in goals for the nhl? For now. Vanek is starting to catch up to him fast with that breakaway goal... 6-2
Kristian Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Talk about a way to respond to a playoff benching, so far.
hopeleslyobvious Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Talk about a way to respond to a playoff benching, so far. He seems to be getting over his habit of slow starts.
wjag Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Damn.. Carolina has just scored 2 straight to tie the NYI
BetweenThePipes00 Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Vanek just BUSTED HIS ASS to get back and break up a 3-on-2 and then intercepted another pass in the same sequence ... very nice. He is one of the few who seems to have his legs. They better get some rest tomorrow, 3rd in 4 nights at Montreal will not be so easy.
Kristian Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 I'm in awe. Too psyched to bother how the play was tonight, after all it was the second game in two nights.
norfend Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Looks like its gonna be a tough game on Monday - Montreal up 8-5 after being down 3-1 in the first
Corp000085 Posted October 22, 2006 Author Report Posted October 22, 2006 montreal's gonna be out for us no matter what, after that last game! remember, they were absolutely dominating till we got that lucky bounce. they're going to be pissed. however, the sabres are the best team right now, so they're not exactly going to roll over... as for tonight's game, again, they come out slow and sloppy but turn the game around. I'm glad that the power play is clicking on all 8, and they're not taking too many penalties... two major concerns in the first couple weeks of the season, both seemed very m uch fixed tonight. Drury's really on fire... is there a game where vanek won't score? was briere's scoring streak broken? i don't think he got an assist tonight... anyhow, great evening, now lets close out the pats tomorrow afternoon! edit: briere had an assist...
Kristian Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 I think Briere managed an assist, and so far Vanek is impressing the living crapola out of me. Drury's been unreal too.

JujuFish Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Vanek (12) now has more points than Briere (11). Amazing.
krazy8321 Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Hell of a Third period.... We struggled through 1 played a good 2 and smoked them in 3
BetweenThePipes00 Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 If the Sabres play just .500 hockey the rest of the way ... they finish with 90 points :)
krazy8321 Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Everyone have a good weekend I'll see you on mon Mad Max also has 12 pts Vanek with +8 Drury still on fire 7 goals in 8 games

Chilly Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 NHL.com stats don't update as fast as he had thought I guess.
bean Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 did they review the boston goal post in the third period, right before the buffalo goal? According to the boston feed, if it was a goal, they would have awarded boston the goal and negated the buffalo score..... this is news to me. is this a new rule?? btw, the boston announcers are a bunch of penalty whiners, who apparently, do not comprehend the slashing penalty.

No, they reviewed the goal AFTER the Buffalo goal, and yes they said that if that was a goal, the Buffalo goal would not have counted. That's a BS rule. Play should be stopped at that point, not wiping-out an entire period of time.
