hopeleslyobvious Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 So I watched some of the games last night off and on, and I thought it was a pretty damn good night of hockey. Just flipping through the channels I caught: Crosby score a PP game winner at MSG with seconds left in the game. The Laffs prove why they are the Laffs blowing a 3 goal lead in the 3rd to lose in a shootout (By the way, I have never been so confused about who to root for in my life. Seeing that I can't stand the Laffs or the Devils). Dion Phaneuf's big hit on Denis Hamel...and watching the Sens drop another one. Minnesota beating the Caps in a shootout. And I am kicking myself for missing San Jose at Edmonton.
Sabresince70 Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Wasn't just you. That was the best night of hockey watching (Sabres games excluded ofcourse) that I'v had since buying CI years ago!
SDS Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 was it my imagination or was the Leaf broadcast in 16:9 format? W/o HD, those are usually 4:3, but last night I swear it was the 16:9 aspect ratio.

JujuFish Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 SJ/Edm game was crazy. First, Cheechoo scores a natural hat trick for SJ, who went up 4-1. Later on, Ryan Smyth scored a natural as well, for Edmonton who won it 6-4.

Alaska Darin Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Let's not forget the Blues not scoring for over 56 minutes, netting 2 in the final 4 to tie the Bruins, then winning in a shootout in front of over 17K in their home opener. That attendance is pretty impressive given what the franchise went through last season and the fact the Cardinals were playing game one of the NCLS at the same time.
