Corp000085 Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Home opener!!!! I predict a major whooping tomorrow night! Time: 7:30pm TV: MSG, TSN, center ice Local Radio: wgr 550am Streaming broadcast: http://www.wgr550.com Sabrespace Game Chat: http://www.sabrespace.com/fanzone/chat.php
bob_sauve28 Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Haha, that actually wouldn't be a bad chant. "YOU GOT SLUGGED! YOU GOT SLUGGED! YOU GOT SLUGGED!" LOL!!!! Check out my new avatar. :D That's awesome!
Screamin'Weasel Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 My predicts: Sabres: 4 Habs: 2 Biron gets the start and Miller is back on Saturday in Ottawa. Spacek scores his first as a Sabre. Roy gets GWG.
Corp000085 Posted October 6, 2006 Author Report Posted October 6, 2006 i'd love to have miller start tomorrow and biron start on saturday... Not that i fear ottawa or anything, its just to showcase biron on saturday.
JujuFish Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 I expect this to be a close one. The biggest win we had all last year against these guys was 4-2. I'm going to go with 3-1, us, with our third goal being an empty netter.
GGM Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 i'd love to have miller start tomorrow and biron start on saturday... Not that i fear ottawa or anything, its just to showcase biron on saturday. Sadly, I think this will happen. I think it sucks for Biron and the team. Unfortunately, there's no way the Sabres can sit Ryan tonight for the home opener. He always gets the loudest cheers and the place will be bumpin' tonight. So Marty gets the road game against the Sens, which will be the 3rd game in 4 nights for the team. Toronto embarrassed the Sens at home last night, so they'll be out for blood. It just seems like Marty is getting hung out to dry (as much as one can be on this awesome team) in this scenario. Start Ryan in both games.
mrjsbu96 Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 What gives? I just saw that tickets are still available for the opener - how can that be yet we are talking about selling out all of the home games this year?
Quickdraw Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Wow, I am totally all for the "YOU GOT SLUGGED!" movement. Press on!!!!!
X. Benedict Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 And thus, on Oct. 5th in the year of our lord 2006, a movement was born. On this day the fans of the ice mollusks united not to be ashamed of their lowly invertebrate logo. But instead made it the bane of the NHL. Look-out Les habitant, tonight you: Will get Slugged!
Chilly Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Thank friggin God I don't have to watch crappy OLN for this game!
LabattBlue Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Buffalo 5 Montreal 1. Sabres come out firing and never let up. Game is over by the 2nd period and Peters will see his only 3rd period ice time all year long. ;) Goal scorers... Vanek, Pominville, Tallinder, Roy & Briere.
Quickdraw Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Yes, but this question now begs to be asked...WHEN exactly do we use it? After a spectacular hit? A goal? A win? Or all of the above? Does this also mean people will be bringing in bottles of orange hair gel and wiping it on white poster board to signify a slime trail? I can see it now...kids with poster boards with the logo of the opposing team, with orange hair gel or newly made (but not congealed) orange Jello, smeared across the logo.
Stoner Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 What gives? I just saw that tickets are still available for the opener - how can that be yet we are talking about selling out all of the home games this year? Kinda makes the Caniac-bashing a little ridiculous, doesn't it? :) Seriously, I think the problem the Sabres will have to address is the perception that tickets are hard to come by.
hopeleslyobvious Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Kinda makes the Caniac-bashing a little ridiculous, doesn't it? :) Seriously, I think the problem the Sabres will have to address is the perception that tickets are hard to come by. Not really. I believe the Sabres sold out the preseason game. One of the main reasons tonight's game hasn't sold out yet is the Gold level pricing IMHO. Besides, the Sabres haven't been advertising all summer that tickets for tonight are sold out, like the Canes were. Normally I like starting a different goalie in back to back games, but since it's only the second and third game of the season, and there is a big break before game 4, I would say give Ryan both starts. Fatigue shouldn't be a factor this early.
inkman Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Going to Amerks game and I want to record Sabres game but no DVR and VCR is older than my wife. They don't have the game available on line afterwards do they?
LabattBlue Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Going to Amerks game and I want to record Sabres game but no DVR and VCR is older than my wife. They don't have the game available on line afterwards do they? Don't you worry about the Sabres game. Instead, I expect a lengthy report on the Sabres prospects in Rochester. ;)
inkman Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Don't you worry about the Sabres game. Instead, I expect a lengthy report on the Sabres prospects in Rochester. ;) That would require me to keep the beer count to a minimum. My buddies wife works there and she hooks me up. B-)
mrjsbu96 Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Gold pricing or not, it is the home opener and it should be sold out...
Spandrel Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Did we ever get a call on what the penalty was on Peters? Lydman had a chance to get that rebound on the shot, too.
Quickdraw Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Holy smokes, after the goal did you hear a "YOU GOT SLUGGED!!!!" chant?
Bmwolf21 Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Couple rough patches there, Canadians are creating and cashing in on their own breaks. We've had more than a couple occasions where Buffalo was standing around, waiting for the play instead of attacking and making things happen. Not scoring on the extended PP hurt, so the boys will have their work cut out for them in the 3rd.
FogBat Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Haha, that actually wouldn't be a bad chant. "YOU GOT SLUGGED! YOU GOT SLUGGED! YOU GOT SLUGGED!" SUH-WEET!!! :D
FogBat Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 What is up with the officiating? I'm listening to the game on XM, and they are just totally throwing the game in the Habs favor.
