I know you are all excited, but don't get THAT excited!

We still have to clean up some pages and add some content, but I thought I would bring it out today, since the puck hits the ice in a few hours.

SabreSpace!

As always, we are looking for contributers for wallpapers, videos, fan photos, etc... Whatever your Sabres-related talent is - we have a place for you!

That's nice stuff Scott. Is that going to take place of the Sabres Report in any way?

side note: I'm working on my menus right now - I had a bit of a glitch that I should have checked before I went public.

As for TSR - it will stay in some capacity, although I am working that out right now. All forums and fan stuff will move to SabreSpace. TSR may remain only as "news and facts" with all fan stuff linked to SS.

So how does someone post something like wallpaper or pictures?

very nice site. Will the forum change names and/or colors??

Yes. The forums will be under SS as soon as I can get to it and change the banner. I'll also be changing some other graphics, etc... Any suggestions/requests?

Wow. Looks awesome. Thanks a million.

A few miscellaneous suggestions (realizing that the site is still being cleaned up):

1. instead of "debt consolidation" as the default term in the google search box, how about "stanley cup"?

2. would it be possible to get the name of the opponent, instead of the dot, on the calendar on the front page?

3. the link to "home" on the forums page still takes you back to the old TSR home page.

4. under "NHL report", include links to TSN, Toronto Star, Globe and Mail and other Canadian sources, since their hockey coverage is usually pretty strong.

5. under "Sabres Report", include links to Lindy's and Darcy's interviews on WGR audio vault and Sabres.com

6. under "users online", include total # of members/non-members currently online

7. in the forums -- include "find member's posts" as a search option, similar to what you have on TSW.

I don't mean to sound nitpicky -- these are just a few suggestions. The site is great as is.

Thanks.

1. Yeah, I was just playing around with that. I forgot to change it.

2. Probably. I have a lot of work on the calendar to do. I think if I can easily resize it, I can do some initials there. However, I am working on "upcoming opponent" section that may or may not take place of "users online".

3. I know. I need to convert this. I should probably do this now, but it will log everyone out unfortunately.

4. We'll see if I can combine those easily. The AP gives a good overview, but I realize they aren't specialists.

5. Do you mean permanent links or when they come up periodically?

6. Is "users online" useful info? I have been back and forth on it.

7. It's there - it is just hidden in a drop down menu.

This is great stuff! I LOVE it when people take the time to tell me what can be done better. Keep it coming.

One selfish suggestion as I try to get a NYC Fan club off the ground: In the Fan Zone section what about a page that list Sabres/hockey friendly bars in big cities. There are usually a bunch of treads throughout the year asking for suggestions, that could be a place to consolidate all the info.

if you take the lead and gather that info for me I would gladly put up a page your club and a list of others bars!

one suggestion i'd make, is under fansites, add www.letsgosabres.com because i visited that site today and when i click on forums, they list three forums, one of which is this site. Just a return in favors i guess would be cool.

5. I think when they come up periodically would be better, but I recognize that this may require someone to do it manually -- so if this is the case, then permanent links. Pretty sure Lindy's interview on WGR is tues. AM; I think Darcy was every other week last year but not sure.

6. I think both names and number of online users is somewhat useful. certainly not critical but if not too much work then I would include it.

SDS - love the new look, much cleaner, better laid out.

Quick question - will the external news links behave like they did on TSR - that is, launching an external window or tab? I kind of liked that feature - allowed me to open a few articles at once rather than going back & forth...

Another point that I debate over. I hate new windows personally. Is a new window that much more preferable to you?

What say everyone else?

Well, since I use FF, its all about the tabbed browsing for me - almost everything I do with external links opens in a new tab.

I absolutely prefer new windows. Well, new windows act as new tabs for me, which is how I prefer it.

That's a tough one. There are some situations where I hate it and others where I love it. On a message board, new windows are great, but since we're talking about the front page here, I guess that doesn't apply.
