chileanseabass Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 gotta love the 4th line... 9:00 into the first and Gaustad has a goal and Thorburn and Mair have fought.
jayg Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 Nice 1st period. 4-1 Sabres. The Colorado announcers have nice things to say about the Sabres and Lindy Ruff for adjusting to the new rules so well.
pwner Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 I'm starting to fall in love with this team. Unlike those other losers in town

Seannie34 Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 this game reminds me way to much of the bills game. up 3 scores at the end of the 1st period and i am all excited about an easy win. hopefully this wont end the same way the other game did...
jayg Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 JayG--are you watching Colo. TV or listening on NHL.com? Have the Colorado feed from DirecTV.

Eleven Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 Not to be outdone by the Bills, the Sabres apparently also are committed to making this game a little more interesting than it needed to be.
Eleven Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 aw geez. it's 4-3 now. With a penalty shot on the way.
Eleven Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 With a penalty shot on the way. Nice move, not dazzling, but nice. And now, a new hockey game.
Eleven Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 Whoa--why no penalty on the Roy haul-down? Horrible non-call under the new rules.
chileanseabass Posted December 5, 2005 Author Report Posted December 5, 2005 man i hate it when this happens
Seannie34 Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 im glad they pulled it off and didnt follow the lead of the bills. buffalo comes out 1-1 today in sports..
shrader Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 That was far from pretty, but a win's a win. Still, I hope I don't have to watch them blow a 3 goal lead ever again this year. edit: I just took a look at the standings. Only Ottawa and Detroit have more wins than the Sabres.
Knightrider Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 I just took a look at the standings. Only Ottawa and Detroit have more wins than the Sabres. Shhhh! To be fair though, at least the Senators have few games in hand...
mphs mike Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 I had a feeling when the Avs made it 4-2 before the second ended that it wouldn't be easy. I'm VERY surprised that the Swordsmen were able to pull it off once it was tied in the third. Another nice road win for the boys. These are the games we'll rely on for playoff positioning.
nfreeman Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 What a great win. All I can say is: LINDY!! DARCY!! LINDY!! DARCY!! LINDY!! DARCY!! You get the idea. A team that fast, that entertaining, that deep and with that much heart doesn't just happen by accident. When Miller comes back we are going to beat Ottawa. Go Sabres.
hopeleslyobvious Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 I forgot to mention last night, we dodged a bullet with about 30 seconds left. The puck came behind the net and Biron moved to the other side, but the Avs kept the puck on the same side. They had a decent angle to score, about a foot of the net wide open, and Biron standing on the other side of the net with no clue where the puck was. Luckily they missed.

Marty kept them in that game during the Av's barrage at the end of the game. For a long period of time toward the end of the third, it seemed like we could not get the puck out and guys were standing around. We weathered the storn and were able to come back to pick up two huge points on the road. That win was not only great for the two points, it was great for a young team not playing on the road under adverse conditions and should only add confidence as the season progresses.
