Making it work in Buffalo.

All the excitement around the return of the NHL and the new CBA is great. But unless we all get out and fill the HSBC Arena it won't matter what the CBA reads. I know it's been 301 days. But there was a rift between the current management and a portion of the fans that the Sabres need to address. Issues like Peca, Hasek, Larry Quinn and Status Qou need to be buried once and for all.

Another thing that needs to happen is the Sabres need to some how connect with the Chip District. They need to make all of the bars and reasturants a part of the Sabre game night. Make the 41 home games a bigger downtown expierence. Make it the place to be.

Here are a couple of ideas :

Regular (free) Sabres shuttles reaching The Elmwood, Allen and Chip bars. So fans can go to their favorite bar for some pre game and not have to worry about getting to the arena and find another parking spot.

Use that big TV screen on Delaware to show game highlites. Show some goals from that night's games. There are ton of people there most nights. A quick and easy way of promoting your product.

Be more of a presence. Host away game parties at local bars. Have Alumni or players on IR host them at some of the places downtown. Offer drink and wing specials. What's cooler then watching a game at a bar with Larry Playfair, cold brew and a plate of wings(except maybe a Hooters girl and a bucket of wings).
