Eleven Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 This bothers me a little bit. Without Connolly, we're looking at Gaustad--whom I like just fine--as the Sabres' third-best, and then Novotny/Paille. I like both of those kids, too, but I do wonder whether either is ready for full-time NHL duty. Paille had 14 NHL games last year (not sure how many at C), and if I recall correctly, Novotny had even fewer. Not panicking; just pointing out a weak spot that is of concern. Timmah, get well soon! ON QUICK EDIT: Roy has some experience at center, and maybe he needs more with the team set the way it is.
inkman Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 ON QUICK EDIT: Roy has some experience at center, and maybe he needs more with the team set the way it is. Roy is a center and has always been a center. Minus the few games he was pressed into playing wing with Drury last year. I feel pretty good about the depth at center. Briere, Drury, Roy, Gaustad and Novotny. That's not even including who's in Rochester.
Sabresince70 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Hecht played center as well last year when needed and IMHO did a good job there. I agree, though, I think Roy will be at center at least until Tim comes back
