LabattBlue Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 I found vintage Sabres hats at Lids.com. Very kewl. Thanks the heavens we can get them from some place and not be stuck with the Piss-a-slug. Check it out for everyone that wants the old school. Vintage logo hat! WOW! I bet Larry Quinn didn't realize that you could come up with a logo that actually depicts a Buffalo instead of a SLUG! <_< Wait until you unveil your creation on Saturday.
fushetti Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 I like it...but it says 1971 on the back. The team was formed in 1970 as we all know. Oh well, it has no slugs and I need a Sabres hat, so I'm gonna get one. Franchise hats rock the house as well.
Mark from Albany Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Yup. I think the only thing that's keeping me from ordering it right now is curiosity over what'll be available Saturday.
Stoner Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 And it's fitted! But easy-fitted, which means it doesn't sit on top of your head like a crown, like some do. I've been looking for one of these for a long time. Thanks Frisky.
frisky Posted September 14, 2006 Author Report Posted September 14, 2006 Now they have one that has they Sluggalo on it that wasn't there when I originally visited this morning. I think it would have been better with the original since it has 1970 on it.
TM8-PL16 Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 how do they screw up the date on the vintage hat? the good logo has 1971 and the slug has 1970... what is the deal with that? I may have to call them and rip the customer service person who has no control over any of it just on principle.
Goodfella25 Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Holy crap that's a really cool logo on that hat! Where did that come from ;)
hopeleslyobvious Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 And it's fitted! But easy-fitted, which means it doesn't sit on top of your head like a crown, like some do. I've been looking for one of these for a long time. Thanks Frisky. I know exactly what you mean. I hate most fitted hats for that reason! I like that hat a lot.
Tarrytown Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 I am a huge fan of twins franchise hats...i have about 20 from various baseball teams...i usually pick one up when I go to a new city. the vintage date does not usually correspond to a specific date...so just because 1971 is on the back does not mean that they are referring to the inception of the club...at least that is my experience with similar hats. The cool thing is that this is a new addition to lids...it wasn't there earlier in the week...I will be buying this one for sure!
fushetti Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 I am a huge fan of twins franchise hats The franchise hats are amazing. Highly recommended. I own two of them.
RayFinkle Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 The franchise hats are amazing. Highly recommended. I own two of them. How is the sizing? I have a big head, is the XL really an XL or a M with a XL label?
fushetti Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 How is the sizing? I have a big head, is the XL really an XL or a M with a XL label? I have a large melon as well...just ask PASabrefan. I wear the XL and its a little big on me.
Stoner Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 I want to clarify that I've only seen pictures of his head, and, yes it's larger than Fenway Park.
