blugold43 Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 surprised it was not discussed more in the papers. i did not see the game last night- does anyone know the nature of it? will we see him tomorrow??
Guest Guest Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 an unusually high amount of "ab" injuries lately... makes you wonder.
Corp000085 Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 an unusually high amount of "ab" injuries lately... makes you wonder. that was me...
DrunkenSabre Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 well we got a win without him, but as far as i know he is expected for friday.
deluca67 Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 well we got a win without him, but as far as i know he is expected for friday. For this teams sake I hope it's nothing. Briere is the one player this team can't do without. If it's takes a game or two so be it. His health should be the Franchises #1 priority.
blugold43 Posted November 24, 2005 Author Report Posted November 24, 2005 it makes me worry- last year at this time i was having a nagging "ab injury" that would not heal...turned out to be the dreaded "sports hernia" that donovan mcnab finally had fixed surgically the other day. as a matter of fact i had the same dr.(wm. meyers) do the surgery on me that did donovan. he is considered the best at diagnosing and doing the surgery. Â anyway, he mentioned at one of my visits that MOST of his patients play hockey and soccer...so now every time a guy goes down with an ab or a groin i wonder if they have the same problem. i hope to god briere doesn't, because it will ruin his season. it would take a good 3 months out his season. Â i realize it is ridiculous to speculate on such a thing based on 1 missed game, but trust me, that injury SUCKS.

LabattBlue Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 surprised it was not discussed more in the papers. i did not see the game last night- does anyone know the nature of it? will we see him tomorrow?? From what I heard on WGR, Dumont and Briere have similiar injuries with the difference being Dumont's is much more serious and they are going to try and rest him for two weeks to see if it gets better. Â I hope these injuries were the cause of the drop in play of both Dumort and Briere, as I thought they both tailed off after a very good start.
DrunkenSabre Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 we can survive without dumot, just means other players will have to pick up the pace, his 50-50 for tonights game, but this is a game we're all motivated for. payback time lol.
Saber61 Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 any word on who's starting for montreal tonight... i need to decide whether to put biron or theodore in.
blugold43 Posted November 30, 2005 Author Report Posted November 30, 2005 :( well it is looking mopre and more like JP has the dreaded sports hernia...and i hope i am wrong, but the fact that briere's pain is "moving around" is a very bad sign. Â whatever it is, i hope they get diagnosed soon...if they do need s.h. surgery don't look for them to be playing until march.

I think Briere is going to see a specialist in Montreal tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I read that in the Buffalo News article. Let's hope it turns out to be nothing.

Attached is link to BN article. It claims they believe Dumont's injury is a sports hernia and they don't know what Briere's injury is.  Briere / Dumont Update
inkman Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 Dumont's presence doesn't matter too much to me. He is a PP specialist and of little value even strength. Briere is the teams best player and the team will sorely miss him once they get into a scoring funk. With all the contributions we are getting from the youngsters, I imagine a drought will happen sooner or later.

blugold43 Posted December 1, 2005 Author Report Posted December 1, 2005 maybe, but my fantasy team has gone to #%^$#! without him. ;)
Saber61 Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 maybe, but my fantasy team has gone to #%^$#! without him. ;) agreed... however i almost accepted a Theodore and Jokinin from me for Briere and scatchard coming to me..... thank god i didn't accept it... briere could be out for a long time and my goaltending is the strongest in the leauge (Miller, Hasek, Theodore)
