mphs mike Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 is it reported that the Sabres "must accept Mair's award becase it is less than 1.4 million" and the Bruins were able to reject Tanabe's award of 1.275 million?
elcrusho Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 Because Mair's Office in the 300's is still open for business
That Aud Smell Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 is it reported that the Sabres "must accept Mair's award becase it is less than 1.4 million" and the Bruins were able to reject Tanabe's award of 1.275 million? that's a good questions -- playing the role of PA, I'll ask for dave_b's input.
BuffalOhio Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 My guess is that it's because Mair has more time in the league, or something like that.
Taro T Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 is it reported that the Sabres "must accept Mair's award becase it is less than 1.4 million" and the Bruins were able to reject Tanabe's award of 1.275 million? Because the idiots at TSN can't read. The cutoff for a team to be allowed to walk away is $1,042,173MM, NOT $1.4MM. Starting next year, this cutoff will increase at the same rate the average player salary increases. (So if APS on June 30, 2007 is 10% higher than APS on June 30, 2006, the walkaway threshold will be $1,146390.)
