GGM Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 Should come down this afternoon right?? My guess is 2.75. That's a pretty solid guess. Although, with Max getting 3+ WITHOUT an arbitor's help, it's tough to see J.P. getting less than 3. I'll go with 3.15.

My bad...I didn't mean to suggest that the arbitor would be swayed by Max's contract, only that if Darcy was willing to give Max 3+ (and people seem to think he came relatively cheap), then one would imagine that an arbitor would have given Max more. If that's the case, then I would struggle to see an arbitor giving J.P. that much less. I don't know. I always expect the worst from "neutral parties".

I actually think a little less. I think Matt Cullen is a pretty good barometer at 3.1. There is no way a decision can go over that for JP - I think there will be a return to some sense of normality here with a 2.6 - just a WAG. I think JP has overvalued himself - what he really wants is to be an UFA next year.

We have to get Dave a league job as arbitrator.. Engineering can wait, the NHL needs you. Knows the CBA and valuations. ;)
