Screamin'Weasel Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 I heard they were making a CGI movie and saw the trailer. Looks really cool. Check it out here.
PTS Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 That looks SWEET! I didn't even know they were doing a new TMNT movie. Four months later, Transformers comes out and that supposed to be PHENOMENAL!
Fronz1103 Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Michealangelo was always my favorite. plus i heard that this movie is going to get a "R" rated release because this movie is going to go back to where "the original turtles" were suppose to go be4 deciding to be kid friendly. Atleast thats what my brother says he read online somewhere....I'm not possitive though, all i really am sure of is my favorite turtle remains michealangelo!
BetweenThePipes00 Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 I think we need a seperate forum for us old guys who had no idea what the hell TMNT was until the context clues in Froz's post ... and even then were stunned it was being discussed.
BuffalOhio Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Who the F cares? When does hockey season start?
slapshot1619 Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 my youth is coming back to me in movie form... TMNT... Transformers and possibly a Voltron CGI Movie

I somehow doubt the movie studios would let them push this to an R rating. Although the primary audience for TMNT is undoubtedly 18+ years, there is still a huge number of children who watch the latest abomination of Saturday morning TMNT cartoons. Also, PG-13 and PG movies on average destroy R rated movies in terms of box office sales. Hollywood is all about making money. Would I be happy with an R rated CGI TMNT? Hell yeah, but if they make more money catering to a broader audience they will do so. It's all about the bling.

They were on ET talking about it last week saying the cost will set the record on film costs.
Screamin'Weasel Posted August 1, 2006 Author Report Posted August 1, 2006 you sure about that 150? They were on ET talking about it last week saying the cost will set the record on film costs. According to that link (and somehow, I believe those are dedicated fans that would know), it is $150 million. Still, Steven Speilberg as Executive Producer for a Transformers movie is pretty cool.
