hopeleslyobvious Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 The game is not on MSG tonight, and the weekly e-mail from the Sabres said that it's not on Center Ice either. Does anyone know if that's just in Buffalo? Do those of us who are out of town get the Carolina feed of the game? I checked the Center Ice schedule and it's listed as one of the games.
Taro T Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 The way the Center Ice blackout is supposed to work is the game should only be blacked out in the Sabres home market. The only way people outside the Sabres market wouldn't see the game is if it isn't broadcast by Carolina. It appears Carolina is broadcasting the game as it is showing on Center Ice (ch 764 on DirecTV) so you should be good to go. Last season, games that weren't covered by Empire but were broadcast in the other team's market WERE shown on Center Ice in the Sabres market provided the other team showed it in their local market. The only game I tried to see but couldn't was one of the Atlanta games in Buffalo as neither Atlanta nor Buffalo broadcast the game. I'm still hoping to be able to see the game in Rochester on Center Ice but my guess is MSG will be sticklers about the rule and I won't be able to see it.
Taro T Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 Why isnt the game on MSG? They only have contract to broadcast 75 games. 2 games will end up on OLN (1 of which was already shown).
