Alsmith'swave Posted October 29, 2005 Report Posted October 29, 2005 Did anyone else notice the game's pace slowing down over the last few games. Little things, like interference away from the puck, skating slowly in the way to break the pace of an odd man rush - I think Madden did it to Dury in the second period last night. This is ugly. Within a few weeks, it seems the better defensive teams will learn to slow things down and play better defense just like they used to. Tell me I'm hallucinating, that it really wasn't just two bad nights for the Sabres.
FGD59 Posted October 29, 2005 Report Posted October 29, 2005 I was thinking the same thing. Gone was the end-to-end play replaced by scuffling along the boards. While I will be dead by the time when the Sabres PP is any good, but in the 1ST 6 games they at least had space to make 2 passes in a row.
blugold43 Posted October 29, 2005 Report Posted October 29, 2005 i have been afraid all along that the defenses would catch up with the new rules...is it already starting? i sort of think it is. not good for our team i am afraid.
Taro T Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 I was thinking the same thing. Gone was the end-to-end play replaced by scuffling along the boards. The Sabres had scored 7 powerplay goals in their last 4 games, and now have 10 in their last 5. Where do we send the condolences to your widow?
