Corp000085 Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 this one's for the history books... anyways, post here during the game or go to the chatroom... http://www.sabresreport.com/chat i should be there, if i don't respond its because the chatroom tab is burried, i'm staring blankly at the canes cheerleaders, or i'm eating. Anyhow, game's at 8pm, discuss...
Seannie34 Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 they stole our song for the beginning of the game...
elcrusho Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Did someone back out on the Anthem? That girl was Hoooooorible...
SDS Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Did someone back out on the Anthem? That girl was Hoooooorible... It would have sounded soooo much better if she was nekkid.
Bmwolf21 Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 What a surprise, Davidson was wrong about the penalty shot/play in question...
zow2 Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Ow, 2-0 'Canes now. They might be dancing in the streets of suburban Raleigh soon. I will have to turn the TV off before I see that Cup hoisted by a Cane. B/T/W nice touch by Carolina fans to stand the whole game so far. Pretty cool move.
SDS Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 What a surprise, Davidson was wrong about the penalty shot/play in question... why was he wrong?
Bmwolf21 Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Davidson said it should have been a penalty shot, and then Stephen Walkom came on and said nope - play was dead, and the correct call was made. To be fair, none of the explanations anyone gave were overwhelmingly clear and comprehensive, but Walkom's take was that the play was dead as soon as Staios gloved the puck forward. So I guess at tthat point it didn't matter if he covered it with his body/glove, etc.
Stoner Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 NBC had an "enhanced" replay that seemed to show the puck over the line. I am skeptical of photographic enhancements though. Anyone else been to the private gallery on SDS' MySpace page? Wow.
Bmwolf21 Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Yeah, saw the NBC enhanced replay (not SDS's MySpace page) and I am leary of a spot-shadowed, behind-the-play angle as well...
Wacka Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Got my anger out after the Whalercanes scored the EN goal. F'n divers, F'n whiners, F'n lucky bast***s that barely beat an Amerks defense in 7 F'n games. Immediately turned off the TV. Will watch King of Queens now (I'm on the west coast).

Hey give them credit they can beat teams with key injuries in 7 games like the best of them. Truly the most underserving Stanley Cup winner ever....
hopeleslyobvious Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 My TV turned off as soon as the empty netter went in.
Raelity Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Ow ! It hurts to watch another team win, when we came so close to being there. With just a little luck it could have been us... It hurts more to see fans and a city that's a relative "newbie" get to enjoy that. Damn damn damn
Taro T Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 My TV turned off as soon as the empty netter went in. My wife is still watching, but I simply can't stomach it. My hat's off to them. They were handed opportunity and took it. That doesn't make the wondering "what might have been" any easier.
SDS Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 their names won't be on it long... if it ever comes through MD - I'll break out the tin snips and right the ship.... :)
Corp000085 Posted June 20, 2006 Author Report Posted June 20, 2006 i just can't stand the fans... as for the canes, they won, get over it. next year will be our year, and we won't need the airhorn to get us cheering for the presentation of the stanley cup
Claude_Verret Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Hey give them credit they can beat teams with key injuries in 7 games like the best of them. Truly the most underserving Stanley Cup winner ever.... I wouldn't go that far. Sure they were handed a lot of breaks through key injuries to the other teams, but the Canes were still one of the best teams in the league this year. Congrats to the Canes organization. #%^$#! their "fans".
Stoner Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 If we're going to have a pity party, how about a moment of silence for the good fans of Hartford? Can you imagine losing the Sabres, then seeing the Portland Swords win the Cup?

Can you imagine losing the Sabres, then seeing the Portland Swords win the Cup? those whaler fans were a hardcore group. I think i'd swear off sports if the portland sabres won the cup, or the LA bills win the super bowl.
