Corp000085 Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 I get the wonderful canes pregame show featuring tripp tracy. yes, THE Tripp Tracy, and they just showed cole warming up. No word on if he'll play or not, but them's desperation moves by labiolette. http://www.tsn.ca/ its not in the story, but tsn is reporting what i said on the homepage. and i'm bored as hell tonight... i'm in the chatroom if anyone wants a game chat
Corp000085 Posted June 18, 2006 Author Report Posted June 18, 2006 ok, the nbc guys are reporting that cole is in, weight is out, and ward is in...
Corp000085 Posted June 18, 2006 Author Report Posted June 18, 2006 i agree. he played a pretty decent period. he took a HUGE hit and had a scoring chance. He didn't finish on a few shots though and you have to wonder about his conditioning for periods 2, 3, and a potential OT and/or game 7, but its a lift. If you're a canes fan though, you have to hope he doesn't pull a numminen and play for a period and sit out the rest.
Corp000085 Posted June 18, 2006 Author Report Posted June 18, 2006 wow, these canes=1999 sabres in finals... it seems as though they've hit a major brick wall, as the sabres did against dallas. the shots right now are about 25-4 in favor of the oilers, wih them leading 2-0... this is about as lopsided as it can get.
Bmwolf21 Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 Cole looks good so far - took some good hits, hasn't shied away from contact and looks pretty strong for having missed 45 games. BTW, PA, I think gutsy might not be the right word for his comeback tonight - Davidson was saying he got cleared by a specialist in Denver and then went to Edmonton & got in the lienup - they said he hasn't had any contact practices at all since the injury. I'd say that kind of move takes a big set of brass...(edited in case little eyes are reading this board...)

I know it is petty (and PA Sabres Fan will mock me for it :D ) but I will be so happy to watch Carolina fall apart.... Actually, I usually cease following hockey as soon as the Sabres are eliminated--I would rather see the NHL swallowed up in a vast sinkhole than think of any fans of any team anywhere ever enjoying the sight of their team hoisting the Cup... But that's just me, and in this case I have decided to make an exception. :D
Corp000085 Posted June 18, 2006 Author Report Posted June 18, 2006 all the oilers needed was a chance... 4-0 oilers tonight and now its game 7. Let's see how the canes can work while injured... lets see if the oilers can keep up the momentum. lets see who skates the cup. monday night, 8pm, nbc, cbc
kingcongkorab Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 Carolina is not the same team they were last week. They looked tired and emotionally spent. Their habbit of falling behind early is also catching up with them. I see a team limping home and playing without passion. Maybe home cooking gets things turned around, but if I were a Caniac I would be worried, very worried.
blugold43 Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 as much as i want them to lose by 10 goals, there is no way in hell a team goes home for game 7 of the stanley cup finals and plays "without passion." it's gonna be one hell of a game!
jad1 Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 Gutsy. Yeah, it really inspired his 'gutsy' teammates. <_< How long does it take a team to go from the 'gutsiest' in the league (according to one person) to the biggest chokers in league history? 60 minutes, this Monday night.

Doesnt seem to have had the emotional lift PL was looking for.
DR HOLLIDAY Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 Gutsy. Desparation?............Not by Cole but by his coach.

There weren't many plays last night where they didn't finish their checks. If you were a Hurricane and you touched the puck, you were going to get hit.
