Seannie34 Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 Hopefully they will come out playing hard not expecting to win. The Caps havent been playing great and i hope our egos arent too big.
Kristian Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 I see this as another test of character, much like the game against The Pens. It'll be easy for The Sabres to come out expecting an easy game. If they come out with fire, I'll truly believe they have become the hardest working team in hockey, again.
Campy Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 If they come out with fire, I'll truly believe they have become the hardest working team in hockey, again. That's true - and man, that makes me proud. I love that nickname, and I'm glad the Sabres are starting play that way.
Larry Playfair Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 No game in the nhl is easily won. In the new NHL, if we can stay out of the box like we have been, keep getting solid goaltending, then we have a good shot at a W on any given night. Power plays are the key, and we have been disciplined and avoided giving up too many man advantages.
Larry Playfair Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 pyatt is out, campbell in..and playing on the wing?? must have been on the PP.
NavySabre Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 Scratching Pyatt ought to make a lot of folks happy. However, playing Campbell on the wing ??? Wow, what an interesting coaching move that was.
Guest Guest Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 does anyone have a link that we can use to listen to the game??

Wow, what an interesting coaching move that was. I didn't even notice Campbell up on the wing, but the Caps announcers did say that the Sabres dressed 11 forwards and 7 defensemen.
Larry Playfair Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 a power play goaaaal???!!!!! Kotalik. crapppp - wash scores.....1-1.
NavySabre Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 SSSSSSCCCCCCCCCOOOOOOOOORRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOO Crap, didn't even get to finish...... Oh well, at least the power play worked.....
Campy Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 SSSSSSCCCCCCCCCOOOOOOOOORRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOO Crap, didn't even get to finish...... Oh well, at least the power play worked..... :D Forgive me if RJ or Lorentz already said this (watching Caps' coverage guys), but you can't ask for a better response on the road than to come back and pop one of your own 22 seconds after giving up the first goal of the night.
PTS Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Sabres losing 2-1. Power Play sucks. Crowd sucks.
zow2 Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 This game has horribly disappointing Loss written all over it. They seem like they expected this to be an easy game (which it should be if they were playing hard).
Larry Playfair Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 halfway through the 2nd and we hve 8 shots? Radio just said WASH is avg 40 shots against.
PTS Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Sabres are getting flat out out-worked. And when they get an opportunity they can't make a simple pass. UGLY ugly game.
JujuFish Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Well, at this rate, they'll keep following their win 2, lose 1 pattern.
Seannie34 Posted October 27, 2005 Author Report Posted October 27, 2005 hopefully they can kill this and get some momentum. i think they will come back strong in the 3rd and even it up early
blugold43 Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 now we're down a man>? geez guys, we look awful tonight... :o
Guest monkeygirl Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Someone is going to have to step up this game because they aren't playing as hard as they should be. It's like when they used to play Atlanta and they would play down to their level but then play tough games against Ottawa and Toronto. And their taking a few more penalties tonight it seems, and not getting good opportunities on the power play......I'd hate it if we lost this game. And the Rochester fans need to make some noise....but they did get stuck with the Washington game, hehe.
Allan in MD Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Unfortunately, they look like the Sabres of old - no intensity, outworked, no thought of shooting, no power play, no flow. They are not even hitting, except for Grier. Very disappointing effort against a mediocre team that is missing its best defenseman (Witt). Lindy needs to kick some tush between the second and third periods. He, also, still needs to figure out that you cannot score without shooting, especially on the power play. By the way, is there a crowd in the building? The effort is pretty bad; the sleeping masses in the arena are not helping.
JujuFish Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Being down by only 1 goal after registering 10 shots on goal is good. This game can still easily be won. C'mon Sabres.
Seannie34 Posted October 27, 2005 Author Report Posted October 27, 2005 thats exactly what the doctor ordered. good work to draw the penalty and a beautiful shot by hecht
