Rabbit151 Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 If any of you believe in jinxing your team or superstition, it was my fault. I sent bad karma to the team. I have my lucky spots I watch the game from at home. We were winning, and I left my spot. What's worse, is that I had to work and although I could have stayed home long enough to watch the game, I decided to drive to work and listen to the rest of the game on Westwood One. I even told the wife as I left that I have never heard a team I was cheering for win while I listened to that freakin' channel. Sure enough, literally 30 seconds after I turned on the radio as I drove, Brind Amour scores. Unbelievable. Why didn't I stay at home in my power karma spot? That freakin' NJ Devil announcer on Westwood One is bad luck...no, atrocious luck. Why did I leave? Why, why, why?!!?

No seriously dude, I'm superstitious as heck too - Don't pull one of these on us again, ok? :D
Rabbit151 Posted June 2, 2006 Author Report Posted June 2, 2006 It seems ridiculous doesn't it? I even mentioned it to the wife, and I kinda said "up yours" to superstition. I don't want my daily actions dictated by silly customs and superstitions. And then, as I said, not 30 seconds into my drive...game-winning goal. It was like God said,"There you go little man, I told you not to listen to that radio-channel, and you did anyways. Now I'm going to see to it that Carolina wins." You want to know the worst part? I get to work(I work in a busy bar, bartender), and I forgot they were having a ladies only night til 10pm (midnight your time). Sounds cool, right...wrong. They were there to watch a male exotic dancer group!! Oh that's what I needed to see right after the Sabres lose. I can tell you in all honesty, I will not watch a single game of the Stanley Cup this year. I just can't do it. By the way, there were a bunch of Oiler fans who were PO'ed that Buffalo lost. They figured Buffalo would be easy to beat. I told them they were crazy and that they have a better chance of beating Carolina than Buffalo. Most of them don't follow the Sabres and thought that was their regular defense. Oilers fans have been drunk for about 2 weeks straight now.

apuszczalowski Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 See what you get for not following superstitions and leaving early, MALE EXOTIC DANCERS. I hope you learned something.

It was as much me as you. I was watching the game at home, as I have for every game we've won, with my brother and Dad. My mom felt compelled to invite my grandpa over to watch the game with us as opposed to by himself, which was fine, but he sat in my seat. My karma was ruined.

I usually drink water for the first two periods, and then switch to beer for the third. I had a second period beer. My bad.
