Hmm...

your first favorite team is Buffalo.

The Canes were your second favorite, but they're not now because you'll be rooting for Edmonton.

I am sure Oiler fans everywhere rejoice in having such a loyal contituent onboard their bandwagon.

The Goat

It is because of azzhole fans like you.

Why don't you show some class and wait a day or two... You are probaly a real nice guy, but you just don't get it.

You guys painted us as azzholes after game 1, got the best of us in the series... Now you find it necessary to get the best of on our own board.

Well, you did... Happy?

I hope you win the Cup this year... Maybe you can bring the Cup up to WNY after the 'Canes win it and rub salt in everybody's wounds...

You finally got the best of me, proud?

<_< <_<

Look, They just ripped my heart out. Give me a freaking break. If they beat anybody but Buffalo, then I wouldn't care so much. I distest the media down here and all the bitching from the Cane players. So sue me If I hope the Oilers win the cup.. I go one step futher. Never mind, I don't want to sound like a sore loser.

I agree. I live in the Carolinas and followed the Hurricanes since the Greensboro days. No more. They have offically become my Boston Bruins of the 21st century. You can't sell out your average size arena for a game seven and gave us Clay Aiken. At least the Goo-Goo Dolls have talent.

Hmmm....

You don't sound like the most loyal of fans.

Stop liking a team because their fan base isn't big enough for you. Yes, that's logic at its finest.

By the way, there should be plenty of room at the Goo Goo Dolls concerts.

The Goo Goo Dolls, is this 1999?

You guys should be as proud of them as most of us are of Clay Aiken.

Well dumb ass how about I explain it in clearer terms for your elementary mind. My friend was in the marketing department when the team moved from Hartford. I got many free tickets. No NHL teams nearby, so if I wanted to watch hockey it was off to Greensboro. I've been to many Sabres games in Greensboro, Raleigh and even a PRESEASON game in Charleston. I have seaon tickets for the Carolina Panthers, I love football. When they play the Bills, I break out the Red, White and Blue.

Understand? I never had to PAY for tickets.

Why do you come here? You can see everybody is upset and still you rub it in. Why are you trying to be a jerk... I mean come on man... I know a lot of Buffalo fans can get jerky, but you are really putting them to shame.

What is your vested interest/connection with the fans or team for coming here?

Lets not talk about loyal, you couldn't even sell tickets, maybe you should have kept the block on from buying tickets, truth be told your arena would have been empty! And people mock NJ for their parade being in a parking lot. Go figure!?

Jaddy,

Your sentiment changes like the weather - is it the lake effect?

Now the Cup's home is Edmonton and not Buffalo?

If you say so.

In the meantime I look forward to watching and rooting for my team to bring the grail to the great state of NC.

The Goat

Hey dumb ass, I've reiterated my position to you several times, and I'll do it one more time before you become the "lost goat"

I'd rather see the Cup go to a market that understands what its worth. Buffalo has been chasing the Cup for 36 years. I've been following that chase almost my entire life. Edmonton has won it 5 times, they know what it symbolizes.

The Stanley Cup is the greatest trophy in team sports, bar none.

Carolina, as a hockey market sucks hind tit. Get it? You don't sell out playoff games. Your press knows jack-sh*t about the game. After 10 years you can't build a market. And you need cheerleaders to entertain your hockey-ignorant crowds.

Since you sullied these boards, that has been my position. It's never changed, never wavered. I want the Cup to go to a true hockey market that will appreciate it, not some third-rate, college basketball, NASCAR, transplant town.

I hope Carolina goes down in flames in the final. I hope their lousy fans are exposed when you can't sell out a finals game. I hope your skinflint season ticket holder get pissed at ownership and cancel their tickets next season and the franchise decides to move to a real hockey market like Winnepeg.

Do you finally get it? Or are YOU retarded?

Exiled,

Fair enough. Not trying to rub it in, but let's face it, I am not going to get a lot of interesting viewpoints on the Canes board right now - euphoria has set in and everyone thinks we've already won the cup, so that's why I came here.

As a Canes fan I understand what it's like to lose....and then some.

You support a great group of players and are part of one of the great fanbases in all of sports.

I will say that this team deserved a better fate than to have the rash of injuries they had.

All that aside, the future looks bright for the Sabres...

Dude, your at an opposing teams site...after a roller coaster loss. There's going to be emotion and outrage and I'm starting to think you enjoy stirring the pot. If you want civility and talk about strategy/future/outcomes, please come back tomorrow.

Well, as long as you say so, a$$hole. When you finally return to those "great" Canes board, we'll have to resort to the magic 8 ball to get such insightful observations.

Jad,

You make interesting points, except the bit about Raleigh being a "third rate" town - we are second-rate and proud of it.

Know this much: if the cup comes south there are those of us who do understand its importance. We do recognize its signifigance. We do know that it is easily the most difficult championship in all of sport to win.

We know hockey. As many of you continually point out, there are certainly not as many of us here as there are in WNY but that doesn't make us any less deserving.

The North doesn't have the market cornered when it comes to fan knowledge and loyalty.

Best wishes to your Sabres moving forward and try to keep in mind, next time you pop off about Raleigh, that there are a few of us here who love this game and our Hurricanes every bit as much as you love your Sabres.

No doubt there are a 'few' of you. That's my point, idiot, there are too few of you. Come to Buffalo during the playoffs and you'll get the idea. It's like the NCAA tournament in NC on acid and steriods at the same time.

Honestly, I could care less about the few of you. It's the many empty seats that forms my opinion. I watched hockey with a 'few' fans in sports bars Phoenix before the Coyotes arrived, and Phoenix is a lousy hockey town like Raleigh.

So I'll continue to pop off about the 3rd rate hockey town (by the way, Dallas is a 2nd rate town, and Raleigh is no Dallas) of Raleigh as much as I please.

By the way, we can lose the formality, you don't have to keep signing your name. I do know who I'm addressing.

Here to you you fugging azzhole. go f clay aiken after you are done blowing dale jr. go watch your nascar races and lets hope you have a HUGE amount of injuries and lose in a sweep. Goat -- congrats on a great win. I think the Canes are a great team and are going to beat Edmonton.

Having said that, I'm a little GD touchy right now, as are we all, so please don't take anything personally and please don't feel the need to respond to any touchy responses you get.

I will also point out that although the Canes played better than the Sabres did and deserved to win, it was extremely close and could have gone either way. I also think it would have been a different story if we'd had our guys in there (or if your team had lost people right before and during the series the way we did).

Enjoy the finals.

So now Goat, where do you live, and are you a Bills fan?

Congrats :P

Benedict,

Living in Raleigh - not a Bills fan.

Best wishes man.

Thanks to the Sabres for a great series. What a gutsy effort tonight! McKee was a tough loss but with a healthy Sabres team this series would still come down to a game 7 where either team could win. The teams were that close when it comes to talent and heart. 2 great teams who put on a classic show! As a Canes fan I am pumped but I feel for you fans and the players. As for Lindy Ruff, I couldn't be happier, he really came off as a classless loser in this series. I understand you will all be cheering on Edmonton, as I would have been after Lindy tried to drag this team through the mud. Until yesterday I was prepared to cheer the Sabres on had they won. Anyway take care all.

Just one question, is this the first year you watched hockey?

Sorry Goat, no offense, but I can't root for a team whose fans can't sell out a game 7 finals. I hope you understand. I wonder what the "over-under" is on selling out in the championship. If I read that you guys can't muster a sell out under THOSE circumstances, shame on you guys.

I don't think y'all have the backbone to support a Stanley Cup champion. Canes are a superb team but that's all under water under the bridge down in Raleigh. Shame really. They are a terrific team and Ward is as good as they come.

Go Oilers. I need to find an Oilers board somewhere to show my support................. :)

Biggest win in franchise history and Lindy is still in your head. :P

I think we'll keep him around for a while.
