Stoner Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 Hey hockey gods. Bite me. You heartless sons of ! Sabres 4, Canes 3, and taking a cue from PTS, here's the song that will accompany my series highlight audio clip: "The Show Must Go On" by Queen. Yes, another Queen song, after "Hammer to Fall" for the Flyer series and "Under Pressure" for the Senator series. Oh yeah, for the next series, no sh*t, it's "We are the Champions." Hockey gods -- go to hell. Empty spaces - what are we living for? Abandoned places - I guess we know the score. On and on! Does anybody know what we are looking for? Another hero - another mindless crime. Behind the curtain, in the pantomime. Hold the line! Does anybody want to take it anymore? The show must go on! The show must go on! Inside my heart is breaking, My make-up may be flaking, But my smile, still, stays on! Whatever happens, I'll leave it all to chance. Another heartache - another failed romance. On and on! Does anybody know what we are living for? I guess i'm learning I must be warmer now.. I'll soon be turning round the corner now. Outside the dawn is breaking, But inside in the dark I'm aching to be free! The show must go on! The show must go on! Yeah! Ooh! Inside my heart is breaking! My make-up may be flaking! But my smile, still, stays on! Yeah! oh oh oh My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies, Fairy tales of yesterday, will grow but never die, I can fly, my friends! The show must go on! Yeah! The show must go on! I'll face it with a grin! I'm never giving in! On with the show! I'll top the bill! I'll overkill! I have to find the will to carry on! On with the, On with the show! The show must go on.

SDS Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 I see your Queen and I raise you a Triumph: Fight the Good Fight The days grow shorter and the nights are getting long Feels like we're running out of time Every day it seems much harder tellin' right from wrong You got to read between the lines Don't get discouraged, don't be afraid, we can Make it through another day Make it worth the price we pay The Good Book says it's better to give than to receive I do my best to do my part Nothin' in my pockets I got nothin' up my sleeve I keep my magic in my heart Keep up your spirit, keep up your faith, baby I am counting on you You know what you've got to do CHORUS: Fight the good fight every moment Every minute every day Fight the good fight every moment It's your only way All your life you've been waiting for your chance Where you'll fit into the plan But you're the master of your own destiny So give and take the best that you can You think a little more money will buy your soul some rest You'd better think of something else instead You're so afraid of being honest with yourself You'd better take a look inside your head Nothing is easy, nothing good is free But I can tell you where to start Take a look inside your heart There's an answer in your heart Fight the good fight every moment Every minute every day Fight the good fight every moment Make it worth the price we pay Every moment of your lifetime Every minute, every day
BRH Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 I like those, but we need to reach back for the Boss here. Well, we busted out of class Had to get away from those fools We learned more from a 3-minute record, baby Than we ever learned in school Tonight I hear the neighborhood drummer sound I can feel my heart begin to pound You say you're tired and you just want to close your eyes And follow your dreams down Well, we made a promise we swore we'd always remember No retreat, baby, no surrender Like soldiers in the winter's night With a vow to defend No retreat, baby, no surrender Well, now young faces grow sad and old And hearts of fire grow cold We swore blood brothers against the wind Now I'm ready to grow young again And hear your sister's voice calling us home Across the open yards Well maybe we'll cut someplace of own With these drums and these guitars 'Cause we made a promise we swore we'd always remember No retreat, baby, no surrender Blood brothers in the stormy night With a vow to defend No retreat, baby, no surrender Now on the street tonight the lights grow dim The walls of my room are closing in There's a war outside still raging You say it ain't ours anymore to win I want to sleep beneath Peaceful skies in my lover's bed With a wide open country in my eyes And these romantic dreams in my head Once we made a promise we swore we'd always remember No retreat, baby, no surrender Blood brothers in a stormy night With a vow to defend No retreat, baby, no surrender
Brewski Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 this situation reminds of the original Poseidon Adventure, towards the end, when Ernest Borgnines wife gets killed, Gene Hackmans character(a preacher) looks up to the heavens and shouts at God something to the effect of, "How many more of us do you want, why do you keep trying to thwart us, lets us pass, etc etc" Then he sacrifices himself for the rest of the group and they escape.
