Taro T Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 The Germans Bombed Pearl Harbour??? I am trying not to be a realist in this situation, but its getting hard now. I just don't see this team running on anything more then about an 1/8 of a tank below empty. Somehow the Hockey gods (or Gary "get over it Buffalo" Bettman) just don't want to see a Buffalo team succeed. The injuries just aren't going our way and are really hurting the team right now. If they can pull out a win in Buffalo for game 6 they have a chance, but they are going to need some help. I will still be cheering and hoping for the win, but I'm bracing myself for this being the end of the road. Let me preface this with my being one of the biggest conspiracy theorists out there, but considering the TV ratings that the league is drawing in Buffalo vs what they are drawing elsewhere, I find it very hard to believe that the league is pulling for Carolina over Buffalo. It isn't like the rest of the country will watch the finals if Carolina's there but won't if Buffalo is. The rest of the country is missing some excellent competition. The entire city of Buffalo will be watching the Finals if the Sabres are there. Will even 10% of Raleigh be watching? Isn't it better to have over 50% of the #40 market watching vs 5% of the #30? It just makes too much financial sense for the league (and NBC), that I have to believe the league WANTS Buffalo in the finals. Now it's up to the Sabres to give the league what it wants.
