Why Not Grier on Defense??

Grier has the size and attitude for Defense. We should throw him back there and activate Mair.

I have an interesting theory... Maybe ruff is just playing possum... We dress 6 defenders, one gets significantly less ice time (janik). That's not much of a drop off. Fitzpatrick seemed to learn from his mistakes in this series, jillson played great last night. Sure, there's drop off from tallinder, but its not like we don't have anyone to play period... grier will be asked to play back more tonight, but dressing him as a defender is silly, unless connolly is healthy. that changes everything.

Grier plays a critical role upfront between 5 on 5 and PK. There is no way Lindy wants to take him out of that role.

there are few guys who could conceivably move back from forward to defense. the only buffalo forward i could see getting moved back is pominville. the other ideas that have been mentioned (greir, gaustad, etc) would never happen. they'd have no clue what to do back there (not that pominville does, but at least he does it on the pp).
