X. Benedict Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 Buffalo Black Aces Bury Carolina 4 Sabres that spent time in Rochester score to give Buffalo 3-1 series lead.
Stoner Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 LAST LINE OF DEFENSE Miller's 34 saves, Pominville's pair lead Sabres to 3-1 series lead At least I think that would be a really cool story line. Everyone is flipping out about the injuries on defense, some portending doom, and forgetting about our best defenseman -- Ryan Miller.

LabattBlue Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 Remainder of Sabres blueliners are hurt, Lindy Ruff activates himself between the second and third periods and blocks a point blank shot with two seconds to go. Sabres win 3-2. Kind of a long headline...they will have to reduce the font size. :)

apuszczalowski Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 Alexander Ovechkin quits Capitals Says Only wants to play in Buffalo for minimum salary or Hurricanes Coach Quits Says Sabres are just too good to beat, Not worthy of being in the same arena as Lindy Ruff and is less of a man, 'Canes now downgraded to tropical storm or Sabres Defence Desimated but still win Sabres lose a couple more defencemen in game 4 for playoffs, Biron, Ruff and Cunneyworth will suit up for game 6 as defencemen, Call goes out to James Patrick to come back (I added the slightly negative one in their to appease the Hockey gods, they have not been on my side lately, Leafs fan friend just got a free 100 level ticket to go to tonights game for free, while I'm stuck at home to watch the game)

X. Benedict Posted May 26, 2006 Author Report Posted May 26, 2006 Website Angers Hockey Gods, Dooms Sabres <_< You bring up an interesting point. Hockey Gods require that you don't mess up your winning patterns. But they also frown on gloom. As you see - this is a thread of fiction. The Hockey Gods will get it, if they don't, they will just take another defenseman. We'll be alright.
Dan Gross Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 The Hockey Gods will get it, if they don't, they will just take another defenseman. We'll be alright. So you're saying the "rash of injuries" are actually Lindy's sacrificial offerings to the hockey gods? Hmmmmm.....

nfreeman Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 DEFENSE RESTS ...Sabres win behind patchwork "D" as Miller, team step up, take 3-1 lead.
Dan Gross Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 ESPN.com headline: Forsberg has another surgery. Asks for extra chocolate pudding with dinner. Actually the ESPN.com NHL-related headline reads: "Some NHL playoff game happened but who cares because no one watches it because it's not on ESPN booya!" Kinda long-winded, but so are most ESPN anchors...
Orange Seats Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 If Paescht (sp?) plays and we win the cleverest headline would be: Paescht-work Defense Lifts Sabres Alternately I think this would suffice: Rochester Americans One Win Away From Stanley Cup Finals
