Stoner Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 May 22, 1975 At the Aud, only two fog breaks are needed as the Sabres emerge from the mist with a 4-2 victory over the Flyers to tie the Stanley Cup finals at two games apiece. Gerry Desjardins is back in goal and plays well, despite an early softie allowed to Moose Dupont. Jerry Korab ties it at one, but the Flyers take a 2-1 lead. In the second, Gilbert Perreault knots it up again, converting a pass in front of the net from Rene Robert. Then the Sabres take a rare lead in the series when Jim Lorentz fires the rebound of Rick Dudley's shot into the open side late in the period. In the third, it's nail-biting time until Danny Gare deposits one into an empty net with 32 seconds remaining.
