I am a new fan to this board. As a longtime Sabres fan now living in Colorado, I sometimes dont quite get news as fast as others in regards to the Sabres. I read the other day on The Hockey News about the Sabres and the NHL going to new sweaters starting next season. NIKE now has the contract and the look is going to change. Anyone have any ideas or even proposed leaked pics of what the new Sabres sweaters are going to look like? Larry Quinn says definitely blue/gold however he didnt comment on the insignia.

 

Also, The Sabres/Canes matchup is going to be a great series. Many news outlets are saying these two teams are mirror images, although I would not totally agree. The Sabres dont have the "name" players that Carolina does and I see that helping the Sabres. This team has been able to grow leaders at every positon on a different night. Teams with name players typically always look to those individuals to lead, versus a team coming together. Look for that to factor in our Sabres series victory over the Canes.

There has been a few topics about it on the board. You can use the search feature on the boards to look for them. At least you will be able to find out what the rumors are because there is not solid evidence of what will happen although the plan was to go BG. All the teams will have to use the new sweater patterns as well.

I was just going through wire photos of the Sabres, I found these of them at practice i Amherst.

That logo is Reebok's, and the cut is unlike many others that I've seen. Perhaps that is the model for the new universal cut? Are they allowing players to get comfortable by practicing in them this season?

 

BTW: I can't wait for Saturday so we have something else to talk about!

i don't think those are the universal cut ones... they still seem overly baggy... look for them to be more like the olympic jerseys that are smaller and fit more like a t-shirt then a huge hanging dress.... i know the medium team canada jersey was almost too small on me and i normally wear a medium regular jersey... So i tried the large and it fit kinda like a sweatshirt that was just the right size... they'll be tighter... but not too tight.

Yes, those designs are nice, but if you go back a few weeks (late April) you will find a thread in which it was revealed that those jerseys will not be the ones we see next fall.

I don't like the look of the new jerseys if they are more gold than white. It makes them look like the Saint Louis Rams! Keep the '76 colors with the '06 Buffalo head. There are too many black and red jerseys. Time to separate from the pack of conformity.

 

The '76 Buffalo looks fat, slow and constipated. The '06 Buffalo looks leaner, faster and meaner. I like the '06 Buffalo.

 

Blend the two uniforms to recognize the history of the old NHL with the electricity of the new NHL.
