1975: Sabres lose in finals to Philly after waiting a week after knocking out Montreal.

 

1980: Sabres lose in semifinals to NYI after a nine-day hiatus following their sweep of Chicago.

 

1993: Sabres are swept in the Adams Division finals by Montreal after eight days off after the May Day series over Boston.

 

1998: Sabres sweep Montreal in the Eastern Conference semifinals that started one week after Michal Grosek and the Sabres eliminated the Flyers.

 

1999: Sabres beat Boston in the Eastern Conference semifinals after nine days off following their sweep of the Senators.

That was why I was glad Carolina won last night. Not only did I prefer them (Ward versus Brodeur), but I wanted them to get iced just like the Sabres. No excuses now for either.
