"Check please." Spent an inordinate amount of time trying to find that one a few year's back. The bear commercials were great. I miss the days when they showed the local commercials during the out of market games. And that fish commercial: "We were biting this morning.... we were biting this morning." 1 Quote

My frustration with the way the Sabres are managed is reaching extremely high levels. Terry scrapped One Buffalo and made the teams operate separately and hopefully better focused on their businesses. Then Terry hires one guy (Guelli) for two COO jobs (Sabres and Bills). Now Guelli brings in a Sabres ticket sales guy. That actually makes more sense to me, but highlights the continuous changes and window dressing that occur. Hence, my joke. The new guy is buffering Guelli. If tickets sales continue to sag, the buffer gets it, not Guelli. It is just an attempt at humor. Edited 5 hours ago by Pimlach 1 Quote

Our dog loved that fish commercial, because he'd get a special treat on Saturday morning and always told him "aw, but it's Saturday." As soon as he heard that, he was off to where the treats were kept. Didn't even need to hear "we were biting this morning, we were biting this morning." Quote

PerreaultForever Posted 45 minutes ago Report Posted 45 minutes ago So that's the plan? Just better marketing? Sometimes I think Pegula has already decided he will eventually sell the team and he's just extracting what value he can and waiting for that expansion money to roll in and when franchises hit the level he's decided it'll be gone. I mean is there another explanation for the lack of effort and direction that actually makes sense? He's not a dumb man I don't think. Quote

In the hockey business he is obtuse. A generation of failure and he still hasn't figured it out yet. 1 Quote

They’ll sell you the whole seat but you’ll only need the edge!!😁 Quote
dudacek Posted 25 minutes ago Report Posted 25 minutes ago I find it interesting that a narrative exists that Pegula will only hire from within for the hockey department when he clearly has no such qualms about the business side, or the football team. I mean I certainly agree he made a knee-jerk reaction 5 years ago with Adams over his intense dissatisfaction with the NHL head office because of the highly recommended Botterill and Lafontaine. Wonder how much of the Karmanos/Forton/Ruff/Appert/Ellis trend is Pegula and how much is actually Adams. I suspect this is an area where they feed each other. Quote
