I asked what you would do, now what do you think will actually happen?

Does Adams get fired and who might replace him?

Does Ruff keep his job and who might replace him?

Do the assist coaches keep their jobs or who might replace them?

Are their any big trades this offseason?

Are their any significant FA signings?

Do all the RFAs get re-signed or our some traded away?

Do any of the current prospects get traded away for whom?

First step is to see what happens to Adams, and who is actually  in charge of Hockey Operations and the roster.

If it is still Adams, don't expect much to change unless he forces some moves out of desperation.

No, I do not think he's getting removed & if there is a new GM I expect Adams to simply be reassigned. If Adams is still in the chain of command, I expect his philosophy largely remains.

Does Ruff keep his job and who might replace him?

Lindy isn't going anywhere until next summer when I expect they promote Appert unless there are big FO changes.

This is the one area I'm hopeful there might be some changes. I'm 99.9% sure Appert is safe (even though he shouldn't be, his power play was a joke) because I'm convinced he's "head coach in waiting." Anybody else could be replaced. Everyone has underperformed.

Are their any big trades this offseason?

Depends on your definition of "big." Do I think there will be any seismic changes? No. There could be some small deals, like some prospects/picks moved for some marginal middle/bottom six forwards.

Are their any significant FA signings?

Doubtful. I think the most we should expect is a Zucker-type signing. Not sure they get someone that has that kind of impact, but we can hope. They need a legit top-6 forward or two and a good RD who can actually...you know...defend.

Do all the RFAs get re-signed or our some traded away?

Re-signed.

Do any of the current prospects get traded away for whom?

I hope so. For whom I'm not sure. I'd expect probably for a middle/bottom six forward or another JAG defenseman.

I'm operating under the assumption Adams isn't going anywhere and if that's the case, my answers are above.

Somewhat realistic hope:

Adams is promoted into another position to represent Terry’s interests

Jarmo or perhaps even a Ken Holland are brought in as GM. Additionally a couple new pro scouts are added.

All besides Ruff and Appert are let go from their coaching positions. Matt Ellis is transferred back to his Player Development position. Appert goes upstairs.

New GM moves Byram and Quinn and possibly even Peterka to season the team better.

Likely Scenario:

Adams is moved to PoHO

Karmanos is made GM

Coaching staff swaps out a few members

1 RFA gets traded for a player over the age of 27.

We all pray the subtle changes and new staff are enough to spur the team to a playoff berth.

The Same Old Situation. Adams doesn’t have a clue and him as GM or President changes nothing.

Adams as President is simply him listening to Terry and telling the GM what Terry wants. No one worthwhile will touch that position. So we get Karmanos or Forton or Ventura as GM just listening to Kevyn tell him what to do so nothing changes at all.

How does moving JJP make us better?

Because we have not traded him in the last 14 seasons! And we have not made the playoffs

Time for. change!

What?  JJP has been in the organization for 4 years.  The only constant in the last 14 years is Pegula (ok and a lack of defense).

It was a joke

I was worried for a minute there.

One takeaway from the presser was the Ruff knows his defenders can't defend worth a crap.   They likely don't want to pay Byram, I think he is the guy traded away.  Sadly I think the rest of the sorry D group returns.  Maybe the return from the Byram trade gets Dahlin or Power a partner.  Adams delusional comments make me think that he believes JBD can play in our top 4, possible as Power's partner.

Overall, if Adams returns, I'm expecting most of the run it back roster to return.

How many times are we going to have this thread this offseason?

If the past is any indicator, I think GA is good for one of these per week when he isn’t on vacation.

This thread is about not what you want done, but what you think will actually happen.  For example I want Power traded because he stinks defensively and has a redundant skill set to Byram who will be cheaper to re-sign and will actually hit someone.

The Adams' lead Sabres will likely trade Byram for a middling prospect and conditional 3rd pick in 2027 so that they don't have to re-sign him.

Byrams going to be expensive for what he is to most teams who don't have as many PP minutes, so i think if he is moved it would be to another young team - and it's unlikely that's bringing us a top-6 winger.  Like looking at someone like the sharks for example: they could really use his speed... but i'm not sure who i'd even want, or who they'd be inclined to move.

So if you wanted to improve the top 6 and someone's willing to waive and come here, or we try to upgrade the player peterka is and take on a bigger extension and more risk.

JJP is arguably our 2nd or 3rd best forward. To me he's a staple, if you want to keep Byram you need to get Samuelsson's albatross of a contract out of here. I like Byram but at same be okay to move him, Samuelsson, Quinn, Benson, a prospect or 2 to get a top 6 guy. I'd love if could get Teravainen from Chicago to put on the 2nd line. I'm not sure what the Sharks could offer that be worth JJP given his age, contract and potential.
