We see hits that are much later go uncalled every game all game long. I will never be convinced that this was a late hit.

It was late but agree they let them go every game... hit on Barkov a little late too and yet they let them go too... meh neither hit that bad but since they called one felt they had to call the other...

We all know TP and GMKA have their heads up their a$$e$, but if they just watched even a game or two of these playoffs, how can they not understand this team isn’t remotely close to being built for the playoffs?  Unfortunately, I am feeling more convinced that they don’t want to build a team capable of succeeding in the playoffs….but rather a team of soft players who lacks guts and physicality.

Sabres have no idea how physical the playoffs are because they havent been there... Ottawa doesnt either and were smacked the first two games but kinda figured it out... Young Sabres really need the experience even if they lose in first round

As with any team some players will play harder and others will shrink. The playoffs are an entirely different game than regular season hockey but also has a tendency to change players. Danny Briere was never a physical player but he loved playoff hockey although the physicality increased. Now I highly doubt Power will suddenly get a backbone in the playoffs but a guy like Peterka could. Although rare, he does occasionally show a slightly more physical game.

It's why I need Power to learn how to throw a basic body check. He doesn't need to be a heavy checker; he needs to learn how to give and take the extreme contact that is the first round of the playoffs, especially since he's viewed as an offensive/transition threat and will be playing top-4 minutes (which get heavy in the playoffs because you can't have Bryson out there). So, again, where is his veteran partner to give him the comfort to go to try stepping up on someone on occasion?

Yup.  It looked like the Habs were doing to tie the series for awhile too.   They are just as young as the Sabres are.  

OV with a real big hit (took a penalty), then Wilson out there blasting people.  

Not sure the Sabres could hold up to this as well.  

Adams is such a fool. No blockers, what an idiot.

I think the no good defensemen except Dahlin is what makes Adams an idiot. Muel is mediocre. Power has not gotten better under Wilford. Byram is, okayish. Docker looks serviceable. Clifton, no. Bryson, stop. Dude has no idea how to build a defense or being in someone to coach his up.

The irony is he think he built a great defense. Inherited Dahlin. Drafted Power and paid him after one  year.  Paid Muel after 54 NHL games.  Traded for Byram, then admitted he did not know were he fit. 

For his next trick Ryan Johnson will make the team next season and full all those Jokiharju minutes.

I'm sorry but I just can't see how they Sabres would survive one game of playoff hockey. They might be able to hang for an odd period here and there but this team does not belong anywhere near this style of play.

Any Sabre team that actually makes the playoffs, would (technically) be better than these Sabre teams that have not made the playoffs. I’ll worry about how we will manage in the playoffs, when we make the playoffs.

I’ve said this before: it’s less about the 5 extra games we get (if that’s all we got), and more about the fact regular seasons have generally been meaningless by thanksgiving for a decade. We aren’t a part of the league for the 82. We don’t get to enjoy the majority of the league’s season, not just the post

The year we drafted Grigs and Girgs, we could have drafted Wilson and Vaselevskiy.  Of course, it’s all hindsight but got to believe it’s a totally different franchise if we had picked those two.

We were drafting for need.  We had no centers to speak of.  Tyler Ennis and Luke Adam.

That was a lousy draft for centers.  Story of our last 14 seasons.
