Year after year they are in the playoffs and the local fans/media are totally into it. It never gets old for these folks. They have drafted well and their rebuild happened quickly, still not sold on them though! Quote

With that being said, they have been very saavy in their moves (and circumventing of the cap) But still, F Eichel Quote
Pimlach Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago (edited) Blues and Jets is a really hard hitting series. Lots of hard work. Another level of intensity. Edited 13 hours ago by Pimlach 2 Quote

His move to Vegas made him a much better player. We have great coaching in Vegas with Bruce Cassidy, John Stevens, and Dominique Ducharme, basically 3 head coaches. 2 1 Quote

It would not have made a difference at all. Jack could not wait to get out of this city and that was just a perfect excuse for him to do it. nobody with championship pedigree is going to get near this organization if they have a choice. Quote
PonyBoy2 Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago Nice no call on the Wilson knockdown after the whistle line change Bettman! Oh, the score is 2-1 late for Caps. It's why fans boo you every chance they get . Quote
Pimlach Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago Watching the playoffs. Thinking about how I took this for granted for most of the Sabres first 40 years. Now I’m older, the kids are raised, grandkids coming in, and the hockey team is dead. Quote
SwampD Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago ESPN totally gooched the Habs. As soon as they showed the graphic of OV's OT playoff count (45games, 0 GWGs) you just knew it was over. Unreal. Quote

Pimlach Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago Just watched Winnipeg and St Louis. Jets took 2-0 lead in the series, but #8 is giving #1 a good fight. Scott Arneil is the Jets HC. A former Sabres player, a good player, his coaching career started as an assistant coach for the Sabres in 02-03. https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=110 Quote

Mr Peabody Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago Jeff Skinner with his first shift in the playoffs. Good for him. Quote

The team / owner failed him not the other way around 1 Quote
Crusader1969 Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago Jeff Skinner's play-off going as expected 8 minutes played and a minus 3 We will see if he can turn it around 1 Quote
SabresBillsFan Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago If I’m McDavid I test the market after next season. He’s not gonna win in Edmonton. Their bottom six isn’t that good and they have Darnel Nurse making way too much money. Shaky goaltending in Skinner. They were a better team last year. Quote

Los Angeles is a big solid team and they hustle. Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago McDavid is insane. What a finish, down 4-0 then tied up 5-5 with 1 minute to go to and kings score to win 6-5 in regulation. 2 OT games today as well. Can't wait for Florida/Tampa Quote

That's how you build a hockey team, and that's how you can rebuild quickly on the fly. Lessons there. Consider all the trades and signings they have made and what type of players they have drafted. They do not sit and wait. Crazy ending to L.A. Edmonton. That loss should demoralize Oilers after the comeback. Quote
OverPowerYou Posted 3 hours ago Author Report Posted 3 hours ago At 32 years old, Jeff Skinner still has never won a playoff game Quote

Their leadership is strong enough to have Dubois tow the line, for now. Strome was an unwanted 2-3C who has replaced Backstrom. Chychrun was hurt as often as Mule. Thompson was a throwaway goalie after Vegas commited to Hill. They upgraded Malenstyn with Mangiapane, that was a no brainer. They gambled and won. Quote

There was an article earlier re: Dubois and about how they saw in scouting that he was most engaged in a shutdown 2-way role, so that is how they use him. Thompson was a career .911ish goalie before this season (never below .908); it’s a mystery that he was not more highly valued. They definitely had a plan. You won’t hear their GM say that they didn’t know how someone would fit. 3 1 Quote
