Here's a question about roster construction: why is your 34 goal scorer dropping the gloves when the opposition takes liberties? Why isn't there 3 players on the roster to not only prevent it, but initiate it? S&B are a joke but we knew that already.

Then theres the tank years where fans begged them to lose to get the generational franchise players that would turn everything around and that it was better to lose out if you weren't a cup favorite to get the better pick (getting to the playoffs wasn't worth it if they weren't going to make a long run). And we are now at the point were just being in the playoff hunt until the last day of the season would be a huge step forward.....

Unfortunately, yeah. I would KILL to have a team that just GETS to the playoffs right now. Being invested in games in March and April is amazing. We sorta had that in 2023 and that ended up just being a big tease. Technically I guess we were "in it" last year, but who really thought that team had it in them to make the necessary push? I sure didn't. I just want a team that plays solid hockey all year and keeps me invested. And that doesn't mean a team that plays ***** hockey for 3-4 months then decides to start actually playing the last few weeks only to fall short because they dug too deep of a hole.

The Sabres loss puts Seattle and Philly just one pt behind the Sabres in the standings.  A regulation loss to Philly on Thursday guarantees the Sabres no worse than the 6th worse record.  Sadly Seattle is likely to lose their final game of the season to LA (they trail 4-2 in the 3rd).

As unappealing as this is I can totally see Appert being given the "interim" tag next year if we are failing mid season and then being given the head coach title the next year after another late season surge where they come up just short and draft 8th or 9th.

I believe I said this in another post... they won a few games at the end of the season.. TP is gonna run this back... Kevyn will run that back ... welcome to year 15 of abject failure....  the only thing I can see changing this is if attendance drops below like 5k or something and the league steps in...
