HOUSE Posted Tuesday at 10:48 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 10:48 AM (edited) Tonight is the invasion of the Toronto Maple Leaf fans, well....maybe Edited Tuesday at 03:33 PM by HOUSE Quote
OverPowerYou Posted Tuesday at 11:11 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 11:11 AM Will this be as bad as the game last year where it was a sellout with 90% leafs fans? 1 1 Quote

Check available tickets on Tickemaster. Leafs fans are weirdly staying away. This is a potentially ominous sign for the Sabres, Bills, the hospitality industries of WNY, ADK, parts of Florida, and so on. 2 2 Quote

Last year was a Saturday night game so lots of people could make a weekend of it. Matthews was going for 60 goals. ( he got it). The stupid boarder situation. Last years game sucked for Sabres fans. Sabres power play was 0 for 6 I think many with no shots on goal. Some jerk Leafs fan threw a Skinner jersey on the ice. Thompson got in a fight out of frustration. It was a rough game to attend. 1 Quote

I'd stay away too if my next door neighbor said he was gonna take my property and then started an economic war with me. Edited Tuesday at 11:48 AM by LGR4GM 4 4 1 2 Quote
Popular Post Flashsabre Posted Tuesday at 11:49 AM Popular Post Report Posted Tuesday at 11:49 AM Yeah Americans still don’t seem to get that Canadians have said “F$&k You” to them. With Trump in power and his rhetoric and the huge hassle at the border now and checking phones for any messages against Trump, Canadians aren’t going to the U. S. ”Come for a game and end up in a South American Super Prison” No Thanks 12 2 1 1 Quote

When you treat people disrespectfully, you are going to get less patronage. On the other hand, it won’t be surprising that a lot of Canadians come to the game and take over the building. It’s embarrassing! It’s a disgrace how much our obtuse owner has gutted his toy franchise. I wish he would sell the franchise and get lost! 2 1 Quote

That Aud Smell Posted Tuesday at 02:45 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 02:45 PM I don't intend to precipitate a political debate. I'm just addressing a fact: Fewer Canadians - perhaps a lot fewer Canadians - are crossing the border for a host of things happening in the U.S. - the Sabres' home games among them. If the considerable pro hockey/Sabre fan base in southern Ontario stays away, that is going to be a monumental problem for our hometown team. Quote

Way bigger risk to the Sabres staying in Buffalo than a change in ownership. If this becomes chronic, I would expect it resulting in a sale AND a move. Oh, what would I do with the social media vacuum? 3 Quote

Add the local effects of that policy to the mix and I very much view our Buffalo Sabres as confronting an urgent existential threat. 1 Quote

Popular Post dudacek Posted Tuesday at 03:03 PM Popular Post Report Posted Tuesday at 03:03 PM Interesting we're seeing a visible manifestation at the ticket window of what anecdotally I'm hearing from so many friends and neighbours. Over here in BC, southbound border crossings were down 25% from what is typical this time of year. 2 hours ago, _Q_ said: Especially when that neighbor additionally cut off your $200 billion a year welfare check! As long this post remains up I can't leave it unchallenged. That $200B is as much a welfare cheque as the money you give to your grocery store. It is money Americans were freely choosing to spend on Canadian goods and services because they thought that's where they were getting the best bang for their buck. It's about as far away from welfare as one can get. If you want to spend that money on more expensive American goods and services, I can respect that choice. But don't justify it with lies. 2 1 7 2 Quote

I've seen things informally reported that it's way down when compared with this time over the past few years (post-COVID, anyway). 26 minutes ago, dudacek said: It is money Americans were freely choosing to spend on Canadian goods and services because they thought that's where they were getting the best bang for their buck. That what's happening in our country can be tucked away in a club under the title Those Darned Politicos. Right above the Sewing Club. Posters have every right to infuse whatever post they want with their heartfel feelings about this slow moving coup. Trump won't run for a third term. He won't have to.
