Guy was a nothing college coach, a pretty ***** AHL coach who really underachieved given the talent he had and blows goats as an NHL assistant. What exactly do they see in this guy? He's cheap and wants to be here. 🤷🏻♂️ Get ready for HC Appert and the return of Matt Ellis to the bench next season. 1 Quote

First of all, was he really the best pick of his draft? Second, what did management see in him to give him that big contract? I don’t see it. What I see is a big slow wuss, afraid of contact, with some offensive talent. 1 1 1 Quote

No. I don't even think he was the best defender in that draft and said as much. He was tall and a 1st overall pick. He's a positional defender with a decent stick and good passing. Quote

Teams are dumping pucks in his corner and just out muscling him, every damn time. He has some serious maturing to do. Who was the last Sabres head coach with a good head of hair? Nolan? Rolston? Sator? Edited Friday at 12:06 PM by Pimlach 1 1 Quote

Power was the consensus #1 rated prospect in his draft class. He didn’t dominate that class from a rating perspective but on most teams draft boards was the top name. Power is not a banger and never will be. He’s a skater and positional defender. Some people have difficulty accepting his game. I’m not one of them. He’s not going anywhere. Quote

DarthEbriate Posted Friday at 02:51 PM Report Posted Friday at 02:51 PM Considering EEE is still the owner’s MO and Adams was hired as GM to fire the AHL staff and scouts that JBott refused to axe, it’s safe to assume that Krueger, Granato, and their staffs were among the lowest paid in the league. Fast forward to Ruff still getting paid from NJ, it’s probably fair to say that this active coaching staff is still one of the cheapest group of contracts in the league. But they want to be here so it’s all good. Quote
