I think it’s mostly this, but also is probably a little disappointment showing through when the players realize how far away they really are from being good enough. Some come back to the minors eager to work on their game. Others contemplate and probably reimagine their future.

Yep. These are players that have excelled at every level all the way up. For some of them this is their first roadblock to a successful NHL career and mentally that can be hard to handle.

And how they handle that is a trait that is very important to see from a player. That response to the return to the minors is another assessment of a player.

Fascinating AHL history was made today as the Bridgeport Islanders ended their 36 game home schedule with FOUR total wins, setting a new record for worst home record in an AHL season. If you doubled the team's current point total of 37 to 74 it would only be better in the East than Utica and Hartford (tied with Springfield).

Helenius called for goalie int. He was pushed in by a Marlie but no matter. Last 2 mins of OT TOR on the power play.

Marlies win. Amerks could have cleared the puck but turned it over.

Amerks finish with 92 points,  .639, 42-22-5-3, 5th overall in the AHL.

Onto the playoffs. Rochester will face Syracuse in rd. 2.
