7400 for game 1 last season. Tonight appears to be tracking for around 6500-6800. A little behind last year but not terrible. 

People forget that for decades, the first round of the AHL was very poorly attended in general. Even back in the 90s when I'd argued the Amerks were more popular, they'd get 3000 or 4000 for early round games routinely.

Agree I remember those days where no one went to the first round.  It just felt like tix were in greater demand the last couple years. Glad to be heading to the barn shortly!

They end up on the CW for about 10 or 15 home games per season.  (Believe they've had one or 2 road games on, but could very well be misremembering.  Have had the free Amerks subscription the past few years, so may be mistaken in believing something that was actually on AHL.tv had been shown over the air.)

Guessing the AHL's new broadcast partner doesn't want any playoff games being shown via other outlets.  Bummer.

I didn't blame him for that one. Didn't get a great replay, but it looked like the puck took a weird bounce.

The Amerks won, but they seemed tentative for the first period and a half. Good win.  Time to assert themselves in game two.  Kulich will be a weapon on Sunday.

Fiddler-Schultz's goal was a nice snipe.

The other four goals in the game were all of the greasier variety.

The Amerks, even with all their youth, seem to be comfortable playing the kind of hockey the Sabres struggled at.

Meanwhile CLE swept TOR 2-0 in their opening round series. The Monsters will face Laval in the 2nd rd best-of-5. That winner faces the winner of ROC/SYR in the North final/Calder quarterfinal.

Was my first Amerks game. Loved the atmosphere, the arena,and the people. Wasn't that impressed with amerks play although they showed heart with comeback win. Two best players on the ice were Fiddler-Schultz and Clague.  Rochester is a really small team. Was not impressed with the jr Sabres:

- Levi two weak goals

- Kulich meh

- Rosen didn't notice him

-Östlund constantly knocked off puck

- Helenius  same as above

- Johnson tiny

- Novikov and Komarov big but can't skate. 

Help is not on the way.  15 and counting unless some major trade wins coming.

LOL glad you write players off after one viewing. Some of the players on your list are some of the top players in the AHL. I guess no team has anyone coming

It's amazing the Amerks are the 4th best team in the AHL while being so bereft of talent.
