There's no travel concern there for the EQUIPMENT MANAGERS?!?!?  Seriously?  You think these guys want to clean then pack up 25 or so sets of gear each night and move it all to a different barn just so they can do THAT all again the next night?

Pretty sure those guys would be perfectly fine with the 1st 3 games being in 1 barn and the other 2 if necessary moving to the other city.

They do it all year. It’s their job.

Edit: And these games are Friday/Sunday/Thursday/saturday/friday. That’s not doing it all again the next night. These game formats exist solely because travel is an issue. They would go 1-1-1 if it wasn’t. Rochester/syracuse is about as close to that as you can get.

on the empty net goal, it looked like it was going to be icing.  i think the ref was about to blow it dead and then saw rosen flying down there.  he can really fly.  he beat the crunch player to puck cleanly and scored from a funny angle.  as far as empty netters go, seemed like a pretty good one.

after the eng and the amerks up 4-0, you could just feel the crunch were going to try to pull something.  things got physical.  my favorite was actually helenius in this situation.  even after the game ended, he was surrounded by crunch players and was still barking at them with his helmet off.  he's got some spunk for sure

From the highlights...

For the end of game, Rosén's ENG was very good. The wheels to get there, then the nonchalant sharp-angle backhand to show off his first-round hands. The defender had to go into overdrive and still lost the angle and then had to think Rosén would carry on into the corner and circle to look for a trailer -- then the backhand, and the defender was left scratching his head that he should've dove. Rosén's hustle put the Crunch in an impossible spot.

Helenius was awesome after the final whistle. He'll turn 19 in a couple weeks.

Thought of @LGR4GM watching Konsta.

In no way shape or form is that kid’s game “small”.

Looks like he’s going to have that perfect fire hydrant hockey build and there’s no fear in his game at all.

Thankfully the Amerks have Prow and Brannstrom in the bullpen if Rathbone and Komorov miss any time.  They might want to dress Jagger Joshua next game to settle some scores.

I didn't realize they scratched Brannstrom.  Wild to be scratching an NHL caliber player in the AHL... but I suppose I can't argue with the results

He may have gotten the call if the series was going to be a track meet, but the Amerks liked Komorov’s size against the Crunch (plus he’s still a legitimate Sabres prospect). Now that he’s likely in the protocol (plus no word how close Prow is to returning), I believe he will be the next man up.
