He's had a terrific year and is our unsung hero. And he is being impactful while playing on a lower line than his talent should be on. He's big, fast, tough, and does the dirty work on behalf of the team. In addition to his scoring production, he's our best PK player. On top of all that his leadership is demonstrated more by how he plays than by his talk. It's a shame that his terrific season isn't rewarded by having the opportunity to participate in the playoffs.

Is having a great season.

Said he floated on too many shifts in the first half. Must have been injuries. Really came on after the break.

Team leader in every sense of the word. Core piece.

Expect he will get a nice payday.

He’s 29. So, this is mostly it for him.

How about 6 years at 7-7.5M per.

It’s interesting - the players they netted from the Eichel and O’Reilly trades ended up being really good, and if Levi pans out, the same can be said for the Reinhardt trade.  Not saying those were the right trades at the right times but still.

Funny, we bag on the non action of KA but more often then not he has pulled out a decent trade for our club with us getting the better end of the deal. Not a fan of KA but will give him credit for bringing in some awesome pieces that makes our team exciting to watch at times!! Now lets make them exciting all the time!!!

Was talking about this last night. But if you look at who we got with those picks then the trades look even better.

Eichel - Tuch, Krebs, Östlund

Samson - Levi, Kulich

More often than not KA does absolutely nothing and he lets the team wallow.  Three years ago there was a surprising "almost" and Adams has now botched two consecutive off seasons in a row since that time.

Adams did not draft Dahlin and he did not trade for Thompson.

Getting Tuch in the Eichel deal was indeed a nice piece to add but the Knights won a cup and Eichel was the missing piece for them, and Eichel is an elite player.  Florida won a a cup and Reinhart emerged as an All Star.  He let Ulmark go and we still have issues at goaltender.

Last year there was going to be an "exhaustive coach search for a veteran NHL coach", followed up by the embarrassing "taxes and Palm Trees presser".  Lets not forget the inaction during the massive losing streak that killed the season - "the solution was in the room".

He gets the credit he deserves.

My favorite current Sabre should be Captain. Somehow gets crapped on regularly by the fanbase.

I don't get the complaints on Tuch or the demands to trade him.

Every player misses shots and misses passes.  He shoots the puck wide and he gets called out.  He misses a pass and he gets called out.  He fights Brady Tkachuk and he gets called out.

He has size and speed and a physical side to his game.  He has developed into a Selke type of winger and he can score 35 goals.  He is there for teammates.

He is one of the 3 players on this roster that you can build around.

The team that gets the best player wins the trade, regardless of how many players are involved. Granted Adams had a proverbial gun to his head, but it was his decisions that got them to that point.

The thing about that statement is in the timing. In the near term it's one thing in the long term it's another. Like getting Tage for Ryan O'Reilly. Who would you rather have then? Who would you rather have now? Right now I would still rather have Eichel but he is off the ice again. Maybe it's getting closer in value. Next year who knows.

Well, we shall see if that worked out for us. Levi has to turn out to be really good for that deal to be viewed as a success

Both players won Stanley Cup and have gone to the playoffs every year since the trade.

So maybe in another 4 years we'll have done good but we lost this trade.

You're not far off but I can't exactly say we lost both trades.

I would certainly say we haven't won either trade but I can't go to the level of a loss.

We lost both trades just like we lost the ROR trade even though we received TNT in return.  Granted in each situation the player we gave up ended up on a better and deeper roster, but other than Tuch, none of the guys received paid immediate dividends and none have helped us become a playoff team.

To ne usually the team that gets the best player wins the trade... there can be no doubt here unless Östlund  or Levi turns out to be a major superstars...

I don’t think we “won” the trades.  Just that it looks better than one might think when you consider the player we took with the pick.

I think Kulich will be a 40 goal scorer at some point. This year reminds me of the Thompson year before he went back to the Amerks. Lot's of chances but just not quite connecting. He won't have to go back down like Thompson did. Many more will go in soon. If that's the case maybe it will not depend on Levi.

Again you can't lose a trade unless you get nothing in return; Thompson for instance saved us from that with the ROR deal.

To win a trade you need to either get exactly what you needed lofty or otherwise, like a Stanley Cup, or the other side gained nothing or less than nothing in return.

Otherwise they are merely shades of good or bad.

For instance I'd say Vegas "Won the trade" because they got the piece they needed to win the Cup. But I wouldn't say we "lost the trade" because Tuch + Östlund + Krebs and Greenway have given value.

I think time and the teams also matter for these trades. We are 4 years removed now from them and both teams won cups. Both players have really elevated their game into their primes and had lots of individual success. Tage has been good. Tuch has been good. The rest we hope for goodness. But those 4 years of betterness IMPO matter.
