Now the 2nd goal, to me that is all on UPL, you have to stop that, no questions asked. Expand 1st goal UPL overcommitted and then just sat there instead of finding the net.... he had time to recover, 100% on him. Second goal was deflected in by Byram. Boston player was trying to pass. Expand UPL left room on the far side of the net on the 2nd goal. Even if the shot wasn't deflected the only side he was going to get beat on was the same side. From where the players were and where the shot came from, there should be zero room for a goal to even go in on that side. The first goal, I just disagree. He got out of position by taking the shooter, the set up to score would have have even happend if every Sabres defender wasn't basically in the same far corner of the ice. Benson is a hard worker but he’s not a go to guy for production when you’re down by two. If Lindy is going to try sending a message it makes sense to sit Benson because he’s a hard worker. He has shown that he doesn't deserve it and his constant being in the wrong position on goals that shouldn't be goals has worn thin. Expand Because sitting the guy who is arguably the hardest worker for making a mistake is one of many ways to send a message. He’s not going to sit a player who has a much better chance of scoring when down by two. Quote

Expand He came out to challenge the shot and Byram tipped it in behind him. Nothing he could do. He overcommitted on the first goal. Pastrnak didn't even need to fake the shot, UPL took himself out of theplay. Boston's strategy is clear. Get him to overcommit, take him out of position. Quote
